SAP Developer Green Card Jobs
SAP Developer roles qualify for EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process, which requires your employer to document that no qualified U.S. worker is available before filing an I-140 immigrant petition on your behalf. Strong SAP implementation and configuration skills support both advanced-degree EB-2 and skilled-worker EB-3 pathways to permanent residency.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship as a SAP Developer
Document your SAP modules before applying
Compile evidence of hands-on experience with specific SAP modules, S/4HANA, FI/CO, MM, or SD, before approaching employers. PERM labor certification ties the job description to your credentials, so mismatches between your resume and the filed role can trigger audits.
Target employers with active PERM filings
Search the OFLC's public disclosure data for companies that have filed PERM applications for SAP Developer roles. Employers with recent filings already understand the process, reducing the risk that sponsorship falls apart after you accept an offer.
Search EB-2 and EB-3 roles on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter SAP Developer jobs by green card sponsorship type. Seeing which employers are actively filing EB-2 versus EB-3 petitions for this role helps you target companies aligned with your degree and experience level.
Verify your employer is E-Verify enrolled early
Many SAP Developer roles sit inside federal contractors who are legally required to use E-Verify. Confirm enrollment status before accepting an offer, employers who aren't enrolled may face delays or complications when sponsoring your adjustment of status.

Find SAP Developer JobsSAP Developer Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Do SAP Developer roles typically qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
SAP Developer positions can qualify under either category depending on the employer's stated requirements. EB-2 applies when the role genuinely requires a master's degree or equivalent, or when you pursue a National Interest Waiver. EB-3 covers positions requiring a bachelor's degree plus relevant experience. Most employers sponsor SAP Developers under EB-3 because the PERM requirements are easier to define and defend.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B sponsorship for SAP Developers?
H-1B sponsorship is temporary, capped at 85,000 annually, and subject to a lottery. Green card sponsorship through PERM and I-140 is permanent and has no annual cap at the EB-3 petition level, though visa number availability depends on your birth country. The PERM process takes longer upfront, typically 12 to 24 months before the I-140 is approved, but leads to lawful permanent residency rather than a renewable temporary status.
What does the PERM labor certification process require for an SAP Developer role?
Your employer must conduct a DOL-supervised recruitment campaign to demonstrate no qualified U.S. worker is available for the role. The job description filed with DOL must accurately reflect the actual duties and minimum requirements. For SAP Developer roles, requirements tied to specific modules like S/4HANA or FI/CO are acceptable if genuinely necessary, but they must be business-justified and consistent with what the employer would require of any applicant.
How can I find SAP Developer jobs where employers are actively sponsoring green cards?
Migrate Mate lets you search SAP Developer roles filtered specifically by EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship activity, so you're only seeing employers with documented PERM filing history. This saves significant time compared to applying broadly and asking each employer individually whether they sponsor, only to find out late in the process that they don't.
Can my employer start the PERM process while I'm on an H-1B visa?
Yes, and starting PERM while you're on H-1B status is a common strategy for SAP Developers. Filing PERM early protects your priority date and gives you more options under AC21 portability rules if you later need to change employers. USCIS allows you to port an approved I-140 to a new employer in a same or similar role after your green card application has been pending for 180 days.
