Green Card Entry Level Jobs
Entry level roles can qualify for EB-3 green card sponsorship when the position requires a degree or at least two years of training. Employers file a PERM labor certification with DOL before petitioning USCIS, giving you a path to permanent residency rather than a renewable work visa.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship in Entry Level
Translate your foreign degree for USCIS
A credential evaluation from a NACES-approved evaluator confirms your overseas degree meets U.S. equivalency standards. Without this step, your employer's PERM filing and I-140 petition can stall at document review.
Target employers already enrolled in E-Verify
PERM-sponsoring employers are required to use E-Verify for employment eligibility. Filtering your job search to E-Verify participants cuts out companies that aren't operationally ready to sponsor a foreign hire at the entry level.
Check prevailing wages before your offer stage
Your employer must pay at least the DOL prevailing wage for your role and location. Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the wage level before negotiating your offer so there are no surprises at the PERM filing stage.
Understand how EB-3 timelines differ by country
For most countries, EB-3 priority dates are current, meaning no multi-year backlog after I-140 approval. If you're from India or China, check the monthly Visa Bulletin with USCIS to understand your realistic wait before your green card interview.
Use Migrate Mate to find active green card sponsors
Searching for entry level roles that include PERM sponsorship takes more than a keyword filter. Migrate Mate surfaces employers with verified green card filing history so you spend time on roles where sponsorship is already part of the hiring process.
Confirm the job duties match your PERM classification
DOL audits entry level PERM filings closely when job duties seem overly specialized. Ask your employer to share the O*NET occupation code they plan to use so your daily responsibilities align with the filed job description before PERM is submitted.
Green Card Entry Level: Frequently Asked Questions
Can an entry level job really qualify for green card sponsorship?
Yes. EB-3 covers skilled workers, professionals, and other workers, and entry level roles frequently qualify when the position requires a bachelor's degree or at least two years of specialized training. The employer must demonstrate through PERM that no qualified U.S. worker is available, which makes entry level roles eligible as long as the minimum requirements are consistently applied during recruiting.
How does EB-3 green card sponsorship differ from an H-1B for entry level roles?
An H-1B visa is a temporary nonimmigrant visa capped at 85,000 per year with a lottery for most applicants. EB-3 green card sponsorship has no annual cap at the employer level and leads to permanent residency rather than a renewable status. The trade-off is timeline: PERM and I-140 processing typically takes one to two years before you can file for adjustment of status, whereas an approved H-1B allows you to start work immediately.
What does the PERM process require the employer to do?
Your employer must conduct a supervised DOL recruitment campaign, including job postings and newspaper ads in specific formats, to show no qualified U.S. workers applied for the role. After documenting those results, they file the PERM labor certification application with DOL. Only after PERM is certified can they file the I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS on your behalf.
How do I find entry level employers that actually sponsor green cards?
Most job postings don't advertise PERM sponsorship in the listing itself, which makes it hard to know which employers are willing before you apply. Migrate Mate filters entry level roles by employers with documented green card filing history, so you can focus your applications on companies that have sponsored foreign workers at this career stage before.
Does switching jobs cancel my green card process?
If you change employers before your I-140 is approved, the PERM filing is tied to the sponsoring employer and does not transfer. After your I-140 has been approved for at least 180 days and your adjustment of status application has been pending for at least 180 days, AC21 portability rules allow you to move to a same or similar role without restarting the process from scratch.
