Senior Electronics Engineer Green Card Jobs
Senior Electronics Engineer roles qualify for EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process, which requires your employer to document that no qualified U.S. worker is available. Candidates with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering typically qualify at the EB-3 level, while those with a master's or equivalent credentials may qualify for EB-2.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship as a Senior Electronics Engineer
Verify your degree meets PERM requirements
PERM job requirements must match your actual credentials. If your employer lists a master's degree in the job posting but you hold a bachelor's plus five years of experience, DOL may reject the substitution. Confirm the education requirement aligns with your background before the filing begins.
Target employers with active PERM filings
Search OFLC disclosure data for employers who have filed PERM applications for electronics engineering roles in the past two years. Consistent PERM history signals an established sponsorship process, which reduces delays caused by employers learning the system for the first time.
Use Migrate Mate to find sponsoring employers
Filter by role and sponsorship history on Migrate Mate to surface Senior Electronics Engineer positions at companies with a documented green card filing track record, so you spend your application time on employers already set up to sponsor.
Prepare a detailed experience portfolio early
PERM and I-140 petitions for EB-2 require evidence that your background meets the specialty occupation standard. Assemble performance reviews, patents, published circuit designs, and letters from supervisors that document your specialized contributions before you reach the offer stage.
Clarify the prevailing wage before accepting an offer
Your employer must pay at least the DOL-determined prevailing wage for your role and location throughout the green card process. Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the Level II or Level III wage for your SOC code before negotiating, so your offer meets the threshold from day one.
Understand EB-3 versus EB-2 priority date implications
For nationals from India or China, EB-2 and EB-3 priority date backlogs differ significantly. Check the monthly Visa Bulletin published by USCIS to compare current cutoff dates for your category before deciding which classification to pursue with your employer.

Find Senior Electronics Engineer JobsSenior Electronics Engineer Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Senior Electronics Engineer role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Senior Electronics Engineer positions typically qualify for both EB-2 and EB-3, depending on your credentials. EB-3 covers candidates with a bachelor's degree in electrical or electronics engineering. EB-2 applies if the role requires a master's degree or you hold a bachelor's plus at least five years of progressive specialized experience. Your employer's PERM job description must reflect whichever standard they intend to use.
How does the green card process differ from H-1B sponsorship for this role?
Unlike the H-1B, the employment-based green card process has no annual lottery at the EB-3 level, though country-based priority date backlogs apply to nationals from India and China. PERM labor certification adds a DOL recruitment phase before USCIS adjudicates the I-140 petition, making the overall timeline longer but the outcome permanent residency rather than a renewable temporary status.
How long does PERM labor certification typically take for an electronics engineering role?
PERM labor certification requires your employer to run a supervised DOL recruitment campaign, typically lasting 60 to 90 days, before filing the application. Standard PERM processing at DOL is currently running several months to over a year depending on audit rates. Roles requiring specialized hardware or embedded systems expertise are occasionally audited, which can extend the timeline by an additional six to twelve months.
Where can I find Senior Electronics Engineer jobs with green card sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lets you search Senior Electronics Engineer positions filtered by verified PERM and green card sponsorship history, so you can identify employers who have completed the process before rather than those sponsoring for the first time. Focusing on employers with a filing track record in your specific engineering discipline significantly reduces the risk of delays caused by unfamiliarity with the DOL requirements.
Can my employer start the PERM process while I'm working on an H-1B?
Yes. Employers routinely file PERM labor certification concurrently with an active H-1B. Starting early matters because your priority date is set when USCIS receives the I-140, not when PERM is filed. If you're a national of a backlogged country, getting the priority date established quickly gives you more time to wait out the queue while remaining authorized to work under your H-1B or any approved extension.
