Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship in Director Of Strategic Initiatives
Document your strategic impact with measurable outcomes
PERM requires your employer to define the role's minimum requirements. Build a portfolio showing cross-functional initiatives you led, revenue or cost outcomes achieved, and reporting structures managed, so your qualifications map cleanly to those documented requirements.
Target employers with existing PERM filing history
Organizations that have sponsored Directors of Strategic Initiatives before already understand the PERM recruitment obligations. Search DOL PERM disclosure data to identify which companies have certified similar senior-strategy roles in the past three years.
Search verified sponsoring employers on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Director of Strategic Initiatives openings by employers with confirmed green card sponsorship history. This cuts the time you'd otherwise spend cold-screening job postings that don't lead to PERM-eligible offers.
Clarify the EB-2 vs EB-3 classification before accepting an offer
If your master's degree or demonstrated professional achievement meets EB-2 standards, your priority date will typically move faster than EB-3. Ask the hiring team which category their immigration counsel intends to file under before you sign.
Understand how PERM recruitment obligations affect your offer timeline
Your employer must run a DOL-compliant recruitment campaign before filing PERM, which typically adds 60 to 90 days before the petition is submitted. Factor this into any start-date negotiation, since PERM cannot begin until after you receive an official offer.
Verify the prevailing wage before your employer files the LCA
USCIS and DOL both require that your offered wage meet the prevailing wage for your role and location. Use the OFLC Wage Search to check Level III or Level IV wage data for your specific metro area before the Labor Condition Application is submitted.

Find Director Of Strategic Initiatives JobsDirector Of Strategic Initiatives Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Director of Strategic Initiatives role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Most Director of Strategic Initiatives positions qualify under EB-2 because they routinely require a master's degree or a bachelor's degree plus substantial progressive experience in organizational strategy or management consulting. If the posted minimum is a bachelor's degree with at least two years of experience, the role may also qualify under EB-3. Your employer's immigration counsel determines the correct category based on the actual job requirements documented in the PERM application.
How does the green card process differ from H-1B sponsorship for this role?
The green card path through PERM, I-140, and adjustment of status leads to permanent residency rather than a temporary work authorization period. Unlike H-1B, there is no annual lottery for EB-2 or EB-3 petitions, so approval depends on your priority date and country of birth rather than random selection. The process takes longer overall, typically two to four years from PERM filing to a green card for most nationalities, but you are not subject to the H-1B cap or the uncertainty of lottery registration.
What does the PERM labor certification process require from the employer?
Before filing PERM with DOL, your employer must run a compliant recruitment campaign using specific advertising channels, document that no qualified U.S. workers applied, and establish a prevailing wage using the OFLC Wage Search for your job title and location. The entire recruitment and documentation phase typically runs 60 to 90 days. USCIS reviews the I-140 petition only after DOL certifies the PERM application, so delays at either agency extend the overall timeline.
How do I find Director of Strategic Initiatives jobs where the employer is open to green card sponsorship?
Most job postings don't clearly state PERM sponsorship intent, which makes filtering difficult. Migrate Mate aggregates openings from employers with verified green card sponsorship history, so you can focus on Director of Strategic Initiatives roles where full employment-based sponsorship is already part of the company's hiring practice rather than a case-by-case negotiation.
Can I switch employers after my green card process has started?
Portability rules under AC21 allow you to change employers after your I-140 is approved and your adjustment of status application has been pending for at least 180 days, as long as the new role is in the same or a similar occupational classification. For a Director of Strategic Initiatives, a move to a comparable senior strategy or organizational leadership role at a new employer would typically satisfy the same-or-similar standard, but you should confirm with USCIS before making that transition.
