Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship as an Implementation Specialist
Align your credentials to PERM requirements
PERM requires your degree and experience to match the job description exactly. If your title abroad was 'Systems Consultant' but the U.S. role is 'Implementation Specialist,' get a credential evaluation that bridges the terminology before your employer files.
Target employers with documented EB-3 history
Focus on companies that have filed PERM applications for Implementation Specialist roles before. Employers familiar with the process move faster and are less likely to abandon sponsorship mid-way due to cost or timeline concerns.
Clarify sponsorship timing in interviews
Ask directly whether sponsorship begins at hire or after a probationary period. Some employers delay PERM filing for six to twelve months. Knowing this upfront lets you weigh offers accurately, especially if your current work authorization has an expiration date.
Check prevailing wage before accepting an offer
Your offered salary must meet the DOL prevailing wage for Implementation Specialist roles in your work location. Use the OFLC Wage Search to verify the Level I through Level IV wages before negotiating, so your offer doesn't stall the PERM filing later.
Search green card jobs using Migrate Mate
Filter for Implementation Specialist positions where employers have active EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship history. Migrate Mate surfaces roles by green card filing activity, saving you from applying to companies that list sponsorship but have no track record of following through.
Understand the EB-2 versus EB-3 classification for your background
Implementation Specialist roles typically qualify under EB-3 as a skilled worker or professional. If your employer requires a master's degree or you hold strong specialized credentials, USCIS may classify the petition under EB-2, which can affect your priority date and wait time.

Find Implementation Specialist JobsImplementation Specialist Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does an Implementation Specialist role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Most Implementation Specialist positions qualify under EB-3 as a professional or skilled worker, since the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in information technology, business, or a related field. If the employer's job description requires a master's degree or the candidate holds advanced credentials in a specialized area, the petition may qualify under EB-2. Your employer's immigration counsel and USCIS determine the final classification based on the actual job requirements.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B for an Implementation Specialist?
H-1B is a temporary work visa with an annual lottery cap and a maximum six-year duration without further action. Green card sponsorship through PERM and I-140 leads to permanent residency with no recurring renewals. EB-3 for Implementation Specialists has no annual lottery, though per-country backlogs can affect wait times for nationals of India and China. The process takes longer upfront but delivers a permanent outcome rather than a renewable temporary status.
What does the PERM labor certification process involve for this role?
PERM requires your employer to conduct a supervised DOL recruitment process, proving no qualified U.S. worker is available for the Implementation Specialist position. The employer must advertise the role through specific channels, document results, and file an application with DOL. Only after PERM is certified can the employer file the I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS. The entire PERM stage typically takes six to eighteen months depending on DOL audit activity.
How can I find Implementation Specialist jobs where employers are already open to green card sponsorship?
Use Migrate Mate to search for Implementation Specialist roles filtered by employers with a track record of EB-2 and EB-3 filings. This approach filters out listings where sponsorship is listed as possible but never actually initiated, helping you focus your applications on employers who have completed the PERM and I-140 process for similar roles before.
Can my employer start PERM while I'm working on an H-1B or OPT?
Yes. Employers can file PERM and the I-140 petition while you're authorized to work under H-1B, OPT, or another status. Your current work authorization doesn't need to expire before the green card process begins. In fact, starting early is practical because PERM and I-140 processing takes significant time. Once your priority date becomes current, you file for adjustment of status with USCIS while continuing to work.
