Green Card Enrollment Specialist Jobs
Enrollment Specialist roles qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process when employers can document that no qualified U.S. workers are available. Education-sector and healthcare-adjacent organizations regularly sponsor these positions, making permanent residency a realistic path for foreign professionals with credentials in student services, benefits administration, or program coordination.

Document your credential equivalency early
PERM requires your foreign degree to meet the role's minimum education requirement. Get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved agency before applying so employers can confirm EB-2 or EB-3 eligibility without delays during the labor certification filing.
Target employers with active PERM histories
Universities, hospital systems, and large insurance administrators regularly file PERM for Enrollment Specialists. Search DOL PERM disclosure data to identify organizations that have sponsored this exact occupation code, not just those that sponsor visas generally.
Clarify the prevailing wage tier before negotiating
Your employer must pay at least the DOL prevailing wage for your location and experience level. Use OFLC Wage Search to look up the Level I through Level IV wages for Enrollment Specialist roles in your target city before salary discussions begin.
Ask about concurrent EB-3 and I-140 filing
Once your employer completes PERM, they can file the I-140 immigrant petition immediately. Confirming this timeline upfront tells you how long until you can file for adjustment of status and whether premium processing is available to accelerate the I-140 decision.
Use Migrate Mate to filter sponsoring employers
Searching broadly wastes time on employers who have never filed for this role. Migrate Mate lets you filter Enrollment Specialist jobs by verified green card sponsorship history, so you reach hiring managers already familiar with PERM obligations.
Confirm the role meets specialty occupation standards
EB-2 eligibility requires the position to normally demand an advanced degree in a related field. Review the O*NET profile for Enrollment Specialists to understand how the occupation is classified and whether your specific duties align with EB-2 or fall within EB-3 skilled worker criteria.
Green Card Enrollment Specialist: Frequently Asked Questions
Do Enrollment Specialist roles actually qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Yes. Enrollment Specialist positions qualify for EB-3 sponsorship as skilled workers when they require at least two years of training or experience, and for EB-2 when the employer can justify an advanced degree requirement. Education institutions, healthcare networks, and insurance organizations regularly file PERM for these roles because the position requires specialized knowledge in benefits administration, regulatory compliance, or program coordination that isn't easily filled domestically.
How does PERM green card sponsorship differ from H-1B sponsorship for this role?
H-1B visa grants temporary status in two- or three-year increments with annual lottery risk, while PERM leads to permanent residency with no annual cap at the EB-3 level for most countries outside India and China. The PERM process also requires the employer to conduct a formal recruitment test and document that no qualified U.S. workers applied, which takes more time upfront but results in an immigrant visa rather than a temporary work authorization.
How long does the PERM and green card process take for an Enrollment Specialist?
The PERM labor certification alone currently averages over 18 months at the DOL analyst review stage, followed by the I-140 petition at USCIS, which takes several months under standard processing. For most countries, adjustment of status or consular processing can begin soon after I-140 approval. Nationals from India and China face additional priority date backlogs in the EB-3 category that can extend total timelines significantly.
What documents should I prepare before asking an employer to sponsor my green card?
Gather a foreign credential evaluation from a NACES-approved service, transcripts, employment verification letters confirming relevant experience, and any professional licenses tied to the role. Enrollment Specialist positions in healthcare or insurance may also require documentation of specialized training in HIPAA compliance or benefits regulations. Having these ready lets your employer's immigration attorney assess PERM eligibility and prevailing wage classification without waiting on you during the filing process.
How do I find Enrollment Specialist jobs where employers are already open to green card sponsorship?
Migrate Mate filters job listings by verified green card sponsorship history, so you can identify Enrollment Specialist openings at employers who have filed PERM before rather than cold-approaching companies unfamiliar with the process. This matters because PERM requires significant employer commitment, and targeting organizations with prior sponsorship experience shortens negotiation time and reduces the risk that an offer falls through over immigration logistics.
