Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship as a Field Operations Manager
Document your cross-functional operations experience
PERM audits for management roles often require detailed job descriptions. Compile records showing you directed logistics, vendor contracts, or field teams at scale, specifics that support the employer's minimum requirements during DOL review.
Target employers with active PERM filing history
Not every company that hires Field Operations Managers will sponsor green cards. Search OFLC disclosure data to identify employers who have filed PERM applications for similar managerial roles in your region and industry.
Use Migrate Mate to find sponsoring employers
Migrate Mate filters Field Operations Manager openings by green card sponsorship history, saving you time screening companies. You can identify employers who have successfully filed EB-2 or EB-3 petitions for operations management roles before you apply.
Clarify the job description before PERM filing begins
The DOL requires that the PERM job description reflect what you will actually do, not an inflated title. Work with your employer early to ensure duties like supply chain oversight, budget authority, and team size are accurately described to survive audit.
Understand EB-2 versus EB-3 placement for your role
If the role requires a bachelor's degree plus five or more years of experience, your employer may qualify to file under EB-2, which typically has shorter backlogs for many countries. Discuss this distinction with your employer before the I-140 is filed.

Find Field Operations Manager JobsField Operations Manager Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Field Operations Manager role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
It depends on how the employer defines the minimum requirements. If the position requires a master's degree or a bachelor's degree with at least five years of progressive operations experience, EB-2 may apply. Roles requiring a bachelor's degree and two or more years of experience typically qualify under EB-3. The employer's job description filed with DOL under PERM determines the category, not the candidate's credentials alone.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B sponsorship for this role?
Green card sponsorship through PERM and the I-140 is a path to permanent residency, not a temporary status. There is no annual cap on EB-3 petitions themselves, and there is no lottery. The tradeoff is timeline: PERM labor certification, I-140 adjudication, and priority date availability can take several years depending on your country of birth, compared to the H-1B's faster initial authorization but uncertain renewal path.
What does the PERM process look like for a Field Operations Manager position?
Your employer files a PERM application with DOL after completing a supervised recruitment process to confirm no qualified U.S. worker is available for the role. The application must include a detailed job description matching your actual duties. If approved, the employer files an I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS. Once your priority date becomes current, you can file for adjustment of status or apply for an immigrant visa at a U.S. consulate.
How do I find employers who sponsor green cards for Field Operations Manager jobs?
Migrate Mate lets you search Field Operations Manager openings filtered by employment-based green card sponsorship history. This helps you focus your applications on companies that have already navigated PERM and I-140 filings for comparable roles, rather than spending time on employers who have never sponsored a foreign national through the permanent residency process.
Can my Field Operations Manager experience substitute for a degree in the PERM process?
DOL allows work experience to substitute for a formal degree under certain conditions, typically using a three-for-one equivalency: three years of relevant experience for each year of required education. For a four-year degree requirement, you would need twelve years of qualifying experience. Your employer must explicitly structure the job requirements this way in the PERM application and document it consistently throughout the recruitment process.
