Home Lending Advisor Green Card Jobs
Home Lending Advisor roles can qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship through PERM labor certification, which requires employers to document recruitment efforts before filing an I-140 petition. Financial services firms with active mortgage divisions regularly sponsor foreign professionals, and the process leads to lawful permanent residency rather than a temporary work authorization.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship in Home Lending Advisor
Verify your degree aligns with PERM requirements
PERM labor certification ties the sponsored role to a specific minimum education requirement. A Home Lending Advisor position typically requires a bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field, so confirm your credential matches the job description before an employer files.
Target banks with dedicated mortgage divisions
Regional banks, credit unions, and non-bank mortgage lenders with high origination volume are the employers most likely to sponsor Home Lending Advisor roles. Firms that operate across multiple states have both the legal infrastructure and business need to support PERM filings for this position.
Check prevailing wage requirements before negotiating offers
DOL requires your offered salary to meet the prevailing wage for your job zone and location. Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up wage levels for your metro area before accepting an offer, so the employer's PERM filing won't be delayed by a wage amendment.
Use Migrate Mate to find green card sponsoring employers
Searching broadly for Home Lending Advisor roles won't surface which employers have sponsored foreign workers before. Migrate Mate filters jobs by green card sponsorship history, so you can focus your applications on employers already familiar with the PERM and I-140 process.
Ask employers about PERM audit exposure upfront
DOL audits a percentage of PERM applications and can extend the process by six months or more. During interviews, ask whether the employer has filed PERM petitions recently and whether they work with immigration counsel, since inexperienced sponsors face higher audit risk.
Secure NMLS licensing before your priority date matures
Home Lending Advisors must hold a valid NMLS license to legally originate loans in the U.S. Your green card petition can be approved before you're licensed, but you can't start working in the role until you meet state licensing requirements, so pursue licensure in parallel with your I-485 process.

Find Home Lending Advisor JobsHome Lending Advisor Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Home Lending Advisor role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Most Home Lending Advisor positions qualify under EB-3 as a skilled worker or professional, since the role typically requires a bachelor's degree and specialized financial knowledge. EB-2 applies if the employer defines the position as requiring an advanced degree or if you qualify under the National Interest Waiver, though self-petition under NIW is uncommon in mortgage lending roles.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B sponsorship for this role?
H-1B sponsorship is temporary, capped at 85,000 annually, and subject to a lottery. EB-3 green card sponsorship has no annual cap on petitions, is permanent, and doesn't involve a lottery. The PERM process is longer upfront since DOL requires documented recruitment efforts, but the outcome is lawful permanent residency rather than a two or three-year work authorization period.
How long does the PERM and green card process take for this role?
The PERM labor certification stage currently averages several months at DOL, followed by I-140 petition review at USCIS, which can take six months to over a year depending on whether premium processing is used. Applicants from countries without a visa backlog can file I-485 concurrently with I-140. Applicants from high-demand countries like India or China may wait years before an immigrant visa number becomes available.
Where can I find Home Lending Advisor jobs that offer green card sponsorship?
Most standard job boards don't filter for employers with green card sponsorship history, making it hard to identify which firms have actually navigated the PERM process before. Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search, letting you filter Home Lending Advisor roles by employers with EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship history so you're not guessing based on company size or reputation.
Can an employer sponsor me for a green card while I'm already working for them on another visa status?
Yes. Employers can initiate PERM labor certification for a current employee on H-1B, L-1, or other status. You continue working in your existing authorized status while the PERM and I-140 proceed. Once your priority date becomes current and you're eligible to file I-485, your status transitions to adjustment of status pending, which USCIS tracks separately from your current visa authorization.
