Green Card Hotel Operations Manager Jobs
Hotel Operations Manager roles qualify for EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process, where your employer files with DOL to permanently sponsor your position. Hospitality management's degree requirements and supervisory scope make these roles strong candidates for employment-based sponsorship across both preference categories.

Document your supervisory scope precisely
PERM job descriptions must reflect what you actually do. Quantify the number of departments supervised, staff managed, and revenue you're accountable for so the labor certification accurately captures your role's specialty occupation standing.
Target hotel groups with active PERM history
Large hospitality groups with multi-property portfolios file PERM more regularly than independent boutique hotels. Search DOL PERM disclosure data to identify which employers have certified Operations Manager positions in the past three years.
Search green card sponsoring employers on Migrate Mate
Filter Hotel Operations Manager openings by green card sponsorship on Migrate Mate to surface employers already filing I-140 petitions, cutting out the guesswork of cold-applying to companies with no employment-based sponsorship history.
Verify your degree equivalency before PERM starts
EB-3 professional classification requires a U.S. bachelor's equivalent. If your hospitality or business degree is from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved service before your employer files, not after.
Negotiate PERM filing into your offer terms
Ask prospective employers to confirm PERM sponsorship in writing during the offer stage. Clarify whether they'll cover attorney fees and whether the prevailing wage determination uses the OFLC Wage Search Level I, II, or III for your market.
Prepare for the supervised recruitment waiting period
PERM requires your employer to run DOL-mandated recruitment before filing. This typically takes three to six months. Maintain your current work authorization status and have documents ready so your I-140 petition files immediately after PERM certification.
Green Card Hotel Operations Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
Do Hotel Operations Manager roles qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Both categories apply depending on your credentials. EB-3 covers skilled workers and professionals with a U.S. bachelor's equivalent, which fits most operations managers with a hospitality or business degree. EB-2 applies if the role requires an advanced degree or you hold one and your employer can justify the higher classification in the PERM job description.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B sponsorship for this role?
Green card sponsorship through PERM leads to permanent residency rather than a temporary status. Unlike H-1B visa, EB-3 sponsorship has no annual lottery, though per-country demand can create priority date backlogs for some nationalities. The process is longer overall, typically two to four years from PERM filing to approval, but the outcome is a permanent immigration benefit rather than a renewable work visa.
Which hotel employers are most likely to sponsor a Hotel Operations Manager for a green card?
Multi-property hotel groups and management companies with in-house HR and legal teams file PERM most consistently. Independent properties rarely have the infrastructure to manage PERM compliance. You can use Migrate Mate to filter Hotel Operations Manager openings by employers with confirmed green card sponsorship history, which narrows your search to realistic targets.
What does the PERM labor certification process require from me as the candidate?
Your employer files PERM on your behalf, but you need to provide accurate employment history, educational credentials, and documentation supporting the job duties. DOL will audit whether your qualifications match the certified position. A credential evaluation is essential if your degree is from outside the U.S., and any gap between your resume and the PERM job description can trigger a denial or audit.
Can I change employers after my I-140 is approved but before I get my green card?
Yes, under AC21 portability rules, you can change to a same or similar occupation after your I-140 has been approved and your I-485 adjustment of status application has been pending for at least 180 days. Hotel operations management roles often qualify as similar under the same occupational classification, but confirm this with an immigration attorney before making any job change.
