Green Card Material Handler Jobs
Material Handler roles qualify for EB-3 green card sponsorship when employers file a PERM labor certification with DOL, confirming no qualified U.S. workers are available. Warehousing and distribution employers routinely sponsor foreign workers through this pathway, leading to permanent residency rather than a temporary visa.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship in Material Handler
Document your hands-on equipment credentials
Forklift certifications, OSHA training records, and equipment operation logs are the credentials PERM auditors scrutinize for Material Handler roles. Gather originals and translations before your employer begins the labor certification process.
Target warehousing employers with E-Verify enrollment
Employers enrolled in E-Verify have already built compliance infrastructure, which makes them far more likely to navigate PERM sponsorship for warehouse and distribution roles than employers who have never filed for foreign workers.
Search green card sponsoring employers on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters Material Handler openings by employers with active green card sponsorship history, saving you from applying to companies that have never filed a PERM case for this occupation.
Clarify the EB-3 job duties match before signing
The PERM application locks in the job description permanently. If your actual duties shift after filing, USCIS can challenge the I-140. Confirm your offer letter matches the DOL-certified duties word for word before accepting.
Check prevailing wage levels using OFLC Wage Search
PERM-sponsored Material Handler roles must meet DOL prevailing wage requirements for your specific metro area. Use OFLC Wage Search before negotiations so you know whether your offered wage meets the legal minimum for certification.
Understand that EB-3 sponsorship has no annual cap for most nationalities
Unlike H-1B visa, EB-3 green card sponsorship has no lottery. Nationals from countries without severe backlogs can move from PERM filing to permanent residency in a predictable timeline once I-140 is approved.
Green Card Material Handler: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Material Handler role qualify for EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Yes. Material Handler positions qualify under EB-3 as skilled or unskilled workers, depending on the specific duties and training requirements the employer documents. The employer must complete PERM labor certification with DOL, demonstrating that no qualified U.S. workers are available, then file an I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS to begin the permanent residency process.
How does EB-3 green card sponsorship differ from H-1B for Material Handler roles?
H-1B requires a specialty occupation tied to a bachelor's degree, which most Material Handler roles do not meet, and it involves an annual lottery with no guarantee of selection. EB-3 sponsorship has no lottery and no annual cap at the petition level. The tradeoff is time: PERM labor certification and I-140 processing run longer than an H-1B petition, but the outcome is permanent residency rather than a temporary status requiring renewal.
What does the PERM process look like for a warehousing or distribution employer?
Your employer recruits domestically through DOL-mandated steps, including job postings and a prevailing wage determination from OFLC, to show no qualified U.S. workers are available. If recruitment confirms that, the employer files the PERM application with DOL. Audit risk is real for manual-labor roles, so expect your employer to keep detailed recruitment documentation throughout. USCIS then receives the approved PERM as support for your I-140 petition.
Where can I find Material Handler jobs with green card sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. It surfaces Material Handler openings from employers with documented green card sponsorship activity, so you're not guessing whether a company will sponsor. Standard job boards don't filter by PERM filing history, which means most listings you find there come from employers with no experience sponsoring foreign workers for this type of role.
Can my employer sponsor me for an EB-2 green card as a Material Handler?
EB-2 requires either an advanced degree or a position that normally requires one, which does not apply to standard Material Handler roles. Most sponsorship for this occupation runs through EB-3. If you hold a graduate degree unrelated to the role, it does not automatically qualify you for EB-2 under that job classification. USCIS evaluates the position itself, not just your credentials.
