Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship as a Security Operations Analyst
Document your SOC code alignment early
PERM certification ties your role to SOC code 15-1212. Collect job descriptions, performance reviews, and project records that match the duties listed under that code before your employer begins the prevailing-wage determination with DOL.
Target employers with active PERM histories
Search OFLC disclosure data to identify companies that have filed PERM applications for security analyst roles in the last two years. Employers with a filing history have cleared the internal legal and HR approvals required to sponsor.
Use Migrate Mate to filter green card sponsoring jobs
Search Migrate Mate by job title and filter for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship to surface Security Operations Analyst openings at employers already committed to the PERM process, cutting out roles where sponsorship is uncertain.
Verify your degree field maps to the role
PERM requires a direct relationship between your degree and the offered position. A cybersecurity, computer science, or information systems degree strengthens your I-140 petition; an unrelated field may require USCIS to evaluate equivalency, adding processing time.
Confirm your offered wage clears the prevailing wage
Before accepting an offer, cross-check the role's location and level against the OFLC Wage Search to confirm your salary meets or exceeds the Level II or Level III prevailing wage. A wage below that threshold will cause DOL to reject the PERM application.

Find Security Operations Analyst JobsSecurity Operations Analyst Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Security Operations Analyst role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Most Security Operations Analyst positions qualify for EB-3 as a skilled worker role requiring at least a bachelor's degree. Roles demanding a master's degree or significant specialized credentials can qualify for EB-2. The classification depends on how your employer writes the minimum job requirements in the PERM labor certification application, so the job description language matters significantly.
How is the green card process different from H-1B sponsorship for this role?
H-1B is a temporary status with a three-year initial period and an annual lottery for cap-subject petitions. The EB-3 green card process has no annual cap for most nationalities and results in permanent residency. It requires PERM labor certification first, which typically takes 12 to 18 months before USCIS even adjudicates the I-140 petition, making the total timeline longer but the outcome permanent.
Which employers most commonly sponsor Security Operations Analyst green cards?
Defense contractors, financial services firms, healthcare systems, and managed security service providers file the largest share of PERM applications for this occupation. These sectors have established immigration programs and recurring headcount needs for SOC code 15-1212 roles. You can verify an employer's filing history through OFLC disclosure data before applying.
How can I find Security Operations Analyst jobs that include green card sponsorship?
Standard job postings rarely specify PERM or EB-2/EB-3 sponsorship explicitly. Migrate Mate filters openings by employment-based green card sponsorship so you can search Security Operations Analyst roles at employers already committed to the PERM process, rather than raising sponsorship during interviews with employers who may not have a program in place.
What happens to my green card application if I change jobs during the PERM process?
Leaving your sponsoring employer before your I-140 is approved restarts the entire process, including PERM labor certification. Once your I-140 is approved and your priority date is more than 180 days old, AC21 portability lets you move to a same or similar role without losing your place in the visa queue, though you must be in adjustment of status proceedings.
