JOB SUMMARY
As a Purchasing Assistant at Marki Microwave you will assist the Procurement team in their day-to-day activities and provide administrative support to ensure information and data are up to date in the ERP and document control systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain purchasing data in the ERP system and ensure it is accurate and up to date. This includes materials data, vendor information, lead times, delivery dates, buyer comments and reorder points.
- Manage and maintain purchasing documents and associated collateral such as outline drawings in the ERP and document control systems. Ensure all documents are the most recent version. Own the audit and clean-up of existing documents; research missing documents and contact suppliers as needed for duplicate copies.
- Assist Procurement team with daily tasks, including following up on received Purchase Orders, tracking work at external suppliers, coordinating expedite requests, processing returned materials (RMAs), resolving incoming receiving issues, and Work Tickets.
- Take the lead on non-complex accounting issues.
- Work with other teams (Manufacturing, Finance, Engineering) on purchasing related projects as required by the Procurement team.
- Manage shortage list and purchasing for expensed production material.
- Work with Inventory Control and manager to maintain Min/Max process for expensed items.
- Work directly with suppliers on pricing, leadtime, purchase orders, shortages, expediting, and escalations.
- Use Inventory Control experience to discover and resolve purchasing issues that arise with little or no additional help, unless necessary.
- Promote an ethics-based business culture in the organization.
REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 2+ years’ experience with Inventory Control, ERP, MES and/or document control systems in a manufacturing company is required.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
- Experience with Sage ERP, Siemens MES and/or DocuWare is a strong plus.
- Team player who can act independently on written or verbal instructions.
- Detail-oriented, organized and can manage multiple activities and priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; experience interacting with suppliers is highly preferred.
- Proficient in a Windows environment and with a recent version of MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams. Use these tools in daily work without being prompted. Create spreadsheets and work instructions as needed.
- Good basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and percentages.
- Performs work accurately and thoroughly.
- Able to recognize, analyze, and offer solutions to problems or involve the necessary people to ensure the problem is properly resolved.
- A quick learner who keeps an open mind to changes that may impact daily activities.
