Match your credentials to EB-2 requirements
PERM-based EB-2 sponsorship requires a master's degree or a bachelor's plus five years of progressive experience in operations or process improvement. Document promotions, scope expansions, and measurable outcomes like cycle-time reductions to build a defensible experience record.
Search for PERM-active manufacturing and logistics employers
Operational Excellence Manager roles attract the most PERM filings in manufacturing, healthcare systems, and supply chain companies. Target employers with dedicated continuous improvement programs and established HR infrastructure, as they're far more likely to sponsor than early-stage organizations.
Use Migrate Mate to find sponsoring employers
Search Migrate Mate to filter Operational Excellence Manager openings by green card sponsorship history. Surfacing employers with active PERM filing records saves you from applying to roles where sponsorship is possible in theory but has never happened in practice.
Verify your role maps to a PERM-qualifying SOC code
PERM filings require a Standard Occupational Classification code that accurately reflects your duties. Operational Excellence Managers often map to Industrial or General Operations Manager codes. Check O*NET to confirm your job description aligns before your employer begins the labor certification recruitment period.
Negotiate sponsorship terms before signing an offer
Clarify in writing whether your employer will cover PERM attorney fees and whether your offer letter specifies EB-2 or EB-3 classification. Employers sponsoring for the first time may default to EB-3 without evaluating whether your credentials support the faster EB-2 pathway.
Track your PERM case status through DOL processing stages
Once your employer submits the ETA Form 9089, DOL audits a portion of PERM applications, which can extend timelines significantly. Monitor your case through PERM's online system and confirm your employer responds promptly to any audit request to avoid withdrawal or restart.

Find Operational Excellence Manager JobsOperational Excellence Manager Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does an Operational Excellence Manager role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship?
Both categories can apply. EB-2 requires a master's degree or a bachelor's plus five years of progressive specialized experience in operations or process improvement. EB-3 covers professionals with a bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Most employers default to EB-3, but if your credentials meet EB-2 standards, you can request that classification, which may offer faster processing depending on your country of birth.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B for this role?
Green card sponsorship through PERM leads to permanent residency, not a temporary work visa. Unlike H-1B, it isn't subject to an annual lottery. The EB-3 category has no numerical cap for most countries outside India and China, so your wait for a current priority date is often shorter. The tradeoff is timeline: PERM and I-140 processing typically takes one to three years before you file for adjustment of status.
What does the PERM process look like for an Operational Excellence Manager position?
Your employer must complete a supervised recruitment period demonstrating no qualified U.S. workers were available for the role. They then file ETA Form 9089 with DOL. Once certified, they file an I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS establishing your priority date. DOL audits a portion of PERM applications, so thorough documentation of your job duties and minimum requirements is critical from the start.
Where can I find Operational Excellence Manager jobs that sponsor green cards?
Migrate Mate lets you search Operational Excellence Manager openings filtered by employers with verified green card sponsorship history, so you're targeting roles where PERM filings have actually happened rather than relying on vague job descriptions. Focusing your search this way significantly reduces time spent on applications that won't lead to sponsorship.
Can I switch employers after my PERM is approved but before I get my green card?
Yes, under AC21 portability rules, you can change employers once your I-485 adjustment of status application has been pending for 180 days or more, provided the new role is in the same or similar occupational classification. Operational Excellence and continuous improvement management roles often qualify as similar under this standard, but you should confirm with an immigration attorney before making a move.
