Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship as a Product Support Specialist
Match your credentials to the right EB tier
EB-2 requires a master's degree or bachelor's plus five years of progressive experience in a related technical or support field. EB-3 covers bachelor's degree holders. Confirm which tier your current credentials support before applying to PERM-sponsoring roles.
Identify employers who file PERM consistently
Search DOL PERM disclosure data to see which technology, SaaS, or enterprise software companies have certified labor applications for Product Support Specialist roles recently. Past PERM filings signal an employer has the legal infrastructure and willingness to sponsor.
Find green card sponsoring jobs on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by green card sponsorship eligibility, so you're not guessing whether an employer will sponsor. Search Product Support Specialist roles and confirm EB-2 or EB-3 eligibility directly in the listing before applying.
Verify the prevailing wage before negotiating your offer
DOL sets the prevailing wage your employer must pay during PERM. Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up wage levels for your job title and work location before negotiating. Accepting below the prevailing wage can delay or invalidate the PERM filing.
Clarify sponsorship scope in your offer letter
Ask your employer to specify in writing whether sponsorship covers only PERM and I-140, or extends through adjustment of status. Some employers stop at I-140 approval, which changes your timeline and out-of-pocket exposure significantly.
Document your technical specialization for the PERM job description
PERM requires your employer to define minimum job requirements that match your qualifications without being tailored specifically to you. Product Support roles spanning CRM platforms, APIs, or enterprise software integrations can support more specific degree or experience requirements than generic support titles.

Find Product Support Specialist JobsProduct Support Specialist Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Do Product Support Specialist roles actually qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Yes. Product Support Specialist positions can qualify under EB-3 when the role requires at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as computer science, information systems, or engineering. EB-2 eligibility applies when the employer requires an advanced degree or you can demonstrate an advanced degree equivalent through a combination of education and progressive experience. The job description must clearly establish those minimum requirements during the PERM process.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B for a Product Support Specialist role?
H-1B is a temporary status with a three-year initial period and an annual lottery, while EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship leads to permanent residency with no lottery. PERM processing adds six to twelve months before USCIS even sees your I-140 petition, so the overall timeline is longer, but the outcome is a permanent immigration benefit rather than a renewable nonimmigrant status that depends on continued lottery selection.
What does the PERM process look like for a Product Support Specialist?
Your employer files a labor certification application with DOL, proving through recruitment that no qualified U.S. worker is available for the role at the prevailing wage. The job duties and minimum requirements in the PERM application must match your actual position. After DOL certifies the application, your employer files an I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS. You then file for adjustment of status or go through consular processing, depending on your current immigration status and priority date.
How do I find Product Support Specialist jobs where the employer will actually sponsor a green card?
Most job postings don't specify whether sponsorship extends to a green card rather than just H-1B. Migrate Mate lets you search Product Support Specialist roles filtered specifically by green card sponsorship eligibility, so you can focus your applications on employers who have already indicated willingness to go through PERM. Cross-referencing with DOL PERM disclosure data for a company's filing history also helps confirm that sponsorship is a real operational practice, not just a checkbox in a job posting.
Can I switch employers after my I-140 is approved but before my green card is granted?
Under AC21 portability, you can change employers after your I-140 has been approved and your adjustment of status application has been pending for at least 180 days, as long as the new role is in the same or a similar occupational classification. For Product Support Specialist roles, a move to a comparable technical support or customer success position at a different company generally qualifies, but you should consult an immigration attorney before making the transition to avoid jeopardizing your pending case.
