Document your field experience precisely
PERM requires your employer to prove no qualified U.S. worker is available for the exact role you hold. Gap-free records of your project scope, budget oversight, and subcontractor management history directly support that labor market test.
Target contractors with active PERM histories
General contractors, civil engineering firms, and infrastructure developers with multi-year PERM filing records have in-house processes for sponsoring site leadership roles. Searching by OFLC disclosure data filters employers who already understand the EB-3 pathway for field-based positions.
Search for sponsoring employers on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters Project Site Manager openings by green card sponsorship history, letting you focus on employers who have completed PERM for similar roles rather than guessing which firms will consider sponsorship.
Clarify your degree equivalency before applying
EB-2 requires an advanced degree or its equivalent. If your construction management qualification is a three-year international bachelor's, a credential evaluation showing equivalency to a U.S. master's strengthens your petition before USCIS adjudicates the I-140.
Align your job offer with the PERM job description
DOL scrutinizes whether the duties listed in a PERM application match the actual position. Ensure your offer letter reflects the supervisory, scheduling, and safety compliance responsibilities your employer will certify, not a generic site manager template.
Confirm your employer's E-Verify enrollment early
Many project owners and federal contractors require E-Verify participation. Employers who are already enrolled tend to move faster through PERM because their compliance infrastructure for employment verification is already established.
Green Card Project Site Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Project Site Manager role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship?
Most Project Site Manager positions qualify under EB-3 as skilled workers or professionals when they require a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field. EB-2 applies if the role requires an advanced degree or your credentials are evaluated as equivalent. Your employer's PERM application defines which category fits the specific position requirements.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B for a Project Site Manager?
Green card sponsorship through PERM and I-140 leads to permanent residency, not a temporary status with expiration dates. There's no annual lottery at the EB-3 level for most nationalities, and your authorization isn't tied to a single employer once you reach the adjustment of status stage. The H-1B visa is employer-bound and time-limited; the EB-3 path removes both constraints once completed.
How long does the PERM and green card process take for this role?
DOL currently takes several months to a year or more to certify a PERM application, followed by USCIS processing the I-140 petition. For workers from countries without significant EB-3 backlogs, total processing from PERM filing to green card approval can take two to four years. Workers from high-demand countries like India or China face longer waits due to annual per-country limits.
Where can I find Project Site Manager jobs with green card sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. It surfaces Project Site Manager openings filtered by employers who have PERM and green card sponsorship history, so you aren't reading through hundreds of listings with no sponsorship signal. You can filter by role, location, and sponsorship record to find firms already familiar with EB-2 and EB-3 filings for construction site leadership.
Can my employer begin PERM while I'm working on an H-1B or other temporary visa?
Yes. PERM labor certification can be filed while you're maintaining valid H-1B status or another authorized work status. Many Project Site Managers initiate the green card process during H-1B employment. Starting PERM early preserves your priority date, which determines your place in the EB-3 queue and matters most if you're from a country with per-country backlogs.
