Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship as a Reconciliation Analyst
Document your degree field precisely
PERM requires your employer to show your degree field directly relates to the role. A finance, accounting, or economics degree maps cleanly to reconciliation work. A general business degree may need supplemental documentation to satisfy DOL's relatedness standard.
Target employers with PERM filing history
Banks, financial services firms, and corporate accounting departments file PERM petitions regularly for analyst roles. Search DOL's Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data to confirm an employer has sponsored similar positions before approaching them about green card sponsorship.
Verify your role qualifies under EB-2 or EB-3
Reconciliation Analyst roles typically fall under SOC 13-2011 (Accountants and Auditors) or 43-3031 (Bookkeeping and Auditing Clerks). The SOC code your employer uses on the LCA affects which EB category fits and what prevailing wage tier applies.
Check prevailing wage before negotiating your offer
Your offered salary must meet or exceed the DOL prevailing wage for your location and SOC code. Run a lookup on the OFLC Wage Search before salary discussions so you know the minimum threshold your employer must hit for PERM to proceed without complications.
Use Migrate Mate to filter sponsoring employers
Search Migrate Mate by job title and location to surface Reconciliation Analyst openings at companies with verified EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship history, so you're not spending time applying to employers who don't sponsor green cards for this role.
Clarify timing before accepting an offer
PERM can take 12 to 18 months at DOL before your employer even files the I-140. Ask hiring managers whether they've started PERM for similar roles before and whether their legal team is already engaged, so you understand the realistic timeline from day one.

Find Reconciliation Analyst JobsReconciliation Analyst Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Reconciliation Analyst role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Both categories can apply. EB-3 covers skilled workers and professionals in roles requiring a bachelor's degree, which fits most Reconciliation Analyst positions. EB-2 applies if the role requires an advanced degree or if your credentials qualify you as an advanced-degree professional. Your employer's PERM application specifies the minimum requirements, which determines the category.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B for this role?
Green card sponsorship through PERM leads to permanent residency, not a temporary status requiring renewal. There's no annual lottery at the EB-3 level for many nationalities, and your priority date locks in once the I-140 is approved. H-1B is capped at 85,000 per year with a lottery, while EB-3 green card filings are employer-initiated and not subject to random selection.
What does the PERM process look like for a Reconciliation Analyst position?
Your employer files a PERM application with DOL after completing a supervised recruitment process showing no qualified U.S. workers are available. DOL review currently takes over a year in many cases. Once certified, your employer files an I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS. After approval, you file for adjustment of status or consular processing depending on your current visa situation and priority date availability.
How do I find Reconciliation Analyst jobs where employers will sponsor a green card?
Most job postings don't explicitly state green card sponsorship availability, which makes it hard to identify the right employers. Migrate Mate filters Reconciliation Analyst roles by verified sponsorship history, showing you companies that have filed PERM or I-140 petitions for similar positions. This saves you from applying to employers who won't sponsor and helps you prioritize outreach where sponsorship is realistic.
Can I switch employers after my PERM is filed but before I get my green card?
You can change employers early in the process, but your employer's PERM certification is tied to that specific job offer and cannot transfer. If you leave before the I-140 is approved, the process restarts with your new employer. After your I-140 has been approved for 180 days, portability rules under AC21 allow you to move to a same or similar role without losing your priority date.
