Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship as a Risk Management Consultant
Match your credentials to the right EB category
EB-2 requires a master's degree or a bachelor's plus five years of progressive risk management experience. If your background is in quantitative modeling, regulatory compliance, or enterprise risk frameworks, document that progression clearly before targeting employers.
Target employers with active PERM filing history
Focus on financial services firms, insurance carriers, and management consulting companies with a track record of sponsoring risk professionals. DOL's PERM disclosure data shows which employers have filed for this occupation category in recent years.
Search green card sponsoring employers on Migrate Mate
Filter by job title and employer PERM history on Migrate Mate to find Risk Management Consultant roles where sponsorship is already part of the hiring process, not an afterthought you need to negotiate.
Negotiate sponsorship terms before accepting an offer
Clarify whether the employer covers PERM attorney fees and whether the role is permanent, since PERM requires the job to exist on a full-time, permanent basis. A contract-to-hire or project-based arrangement will not support a valid PERM filing.
Understand how the PERM recruitment period affects your timeline
Your employer must complete DOL-mandated recruitment, including job postings and documentation, before filing the PERM application. This pre-filing process typically runs 60 to 90 days, so factor it into your start date and any status expiration deadlines.

Find Risk Management Consultant JobsRisk Management Consultant Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Risk Management Consultant role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship?
Both categories are available depending on the employer's job requirements. EB-2 applies when the role requires a master's degree or equivalent advanced credentials in risk, finance, or a related field. EB-3 covers positions requiring a bachelor's degree. Most employers filing PERM for this occupation specify the degree requirement in the job description, which locks in the category from the start.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B sponsorship for this role?
Green card sponsorship through PERM and I-140 targets permanent residency, not a temporary status. Unlike the H-1B, there is no annual lottery for EB-3 filings in most countries, and the employer's obligation is to offer permanent full-time employment. The overall timeline is longer, often two to four years, but the outcome is lawful permanent residency rather than a visa that expires or requires renewal.
What documentation should I prepare before a PERM-based job search?
Gather official transcripts, a credential evaluation if your degree is from outside the U.S., and a detailed employment history that maps each role to risk management functions. Employers and their PERM attorneys will request these documents during the I-140 preparation stage, and having them organized in advance prevents delays after you accept an offer.
How can I find Risk Management Consultant jobs where employers already sponsor green cards?
Migrate Mate lets you filter Risk Management Consultant jobs by employers with PERM filing history, so you can focus your applications on companies that have already run the PERM process for this occupation. That's a more reliable signal than asking about sponsorship during an initial recruiter screen.
What is the prevailing wage requirement and how does it affect PERM for this role?
Before filing PERM, your employer must obtain a prevailing wage determination from OFLC and commit to paying you at least that amount. The OFLC Wage Search tool shows wage levels by occupation, location, and experience tier. USCIS and DOL both review wage compliance, so the offered salary must meet the PERM wage level from the time of filing through the date you obtain your green card.
