Identity And Access Management Engineer Green Card Jobs
Identity and access management engineer roles qualify for EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship through PERM labor certification, which requires employers to document recruitment efforts before filing your I-140 petition. Cybersecurity and IAM expertise in zero-trust architecture, privileged access management, and identity governance makes these roles strong candidates for permanent sponsorship.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship as an Identity And Access Management Engineer
Document your IAM certifications before applying
Gather CISSP, CIAM, or vendor-specific credentials like CyberArk or SailPoint certifications now. PERM filings require your employer to match your qualifications to the job description, so documented credentials prevent delays during labor certification.
Target employers with active PERM filing history
Search the OFLC Wage Search to identify companies that have filed PERM applications for IAM or information security engineer roles. Repeat filers have established legal processes and are far more likely to sponsor new candidates efficiently.
Clarify whether the role qualifies as EB-2 or EB-3
IAM engineer roles requiring a master's degree or specialized expertise in identity governance frameworks typically qualify for EB-2. Roles requiring only a bachelor's degree fall under EB-3. Ask your prospective employer which category they intend to file under before accepting an offer.
Use Migrate Mate to find sponsoring employers
Searching broadly misses employers actively sponsoring green cards for IAM roles. Migrate Mate filters jobs by green card sponsorship history so you spend time on employers already familiar with the PERM and I-140 process for technical positions.
Understand the PERM recruitment window timing
Your employer must complete DOL-required recruitment steps within 180 days before filing the PERM application. If your offer letter arrives before that window opens, confirm your start date allows enough time for the full recruitment and filing sequence.
Confirm your employer can handle concurrent I-485 filing
If your priority date is current when USCIS approves your I-140, you can file for adjustment of status immediately rather than waiting. Ask the employer's immigration counsel whether they plan to file I-140 and I-485 concurrently to avoid unnecessary delays.

Find Identity And Access Management Engineer JobsIdentity And Access Management Engineer Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does an identity and access management engineer role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship?
Most IAM engineer positions qualify for EB-3 when the employer requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field. If the role requires a master's degree or equivalent specialized expertise in areas like identity governance or privileged access management, the employer may file under EB-2 instead. Your employer's immigration counsel determines the category based on the actual job requirements, not your personal credentials alone.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B for this role?
H-1B is a temporary work visa subject to an annual lottery, while EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship leads to permanent residency with no annual cap at the petition level. The PERM labor certification process takes longer upfront, typically adding 12 to 24 months before your I-140 is approved, but the outcome is lawful permanent residency rather than a visa that must be renewed every few years.
What does the PERM process look like for an IAM engineer role?
Your employer files a labor condition application with DOL establishing the prevailing wage for your IAM engineer position, then conducts a mandatory recruitment campaign to confirm no qualified U.S. workers are available. Once DOL certifies the PERM application, your employer files an I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS. You can then apply for adjustment of status or consular processing once your priority date becomes current.
How do I find employers that sponsor green cards for IAM engineer positions?
Many IAM roles are posted without any mention of green card sponsorship, making it hard to know which employers will actually go through the PERM process. Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for employers with green card sponsorship history in technical and cybersecurity roles, so you can focus your applications on companies that have already committed to the process for similar positions.
Will my IAM specialization affect my priority date or wait time?
Your priority date is set when DOL receives your PERM application, regardless of your specific IAM specialization. Wait times after that depend on your birth country and whether you're filing under EB-2 or EB-3. Nationals from countries with high demand, such as India, face significantly longer backlogs than applicants born in most other countries. USCIS publishes the monthly Visa Bulletin showing current priority date cutoffs by category and country.
