Security Analyst Green Card Jobs
Security Analyst roles qualify for EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process, which permanently ties your authorization to a U.S. employer rather than a temporary visa. Employers document that no qualified U.S. worker is available before filing your I-140 petition, making your job offer the foundation of the entire sponsorship case.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship as a Security Analyst
Document your cybersecurity credentials before applying
PERM requires your employer to verify your qualifications match the job's stated requirements. Gather degree transcripts, certifications like CISSP or CompTIA Security+, and employment letters that map your experience directly to the Security Analyst role description.
Target employers with active PERM filing history
Use the OFLC Wage Search to identify companies that have previously filed PERM applications for Security Analyst positions. Past filings signal an established sponsorship workflow, which reduces delays caused by employers learning the process from scratch.
Distinguish EB-2 and EB-3 eligibility before negotiating
If your role requires a bachelor's degree plus five years of progressive experience, EB-2 may apply. EB-3 covers standard skilled-worker positions. Clarify which category your offer fits before the employer files, since misclassification forces a restart.
Use Migrate Mate to filter sponsoring employers by role
Search for Security Analyst positions on Migrate Mate to find employers already sponsoring green cards for this job title. Applying directly to those employers skips the negotiation over whether sponsorship is possible and focuses your effort where PERM is already a known process.
Confirm the prevailing wage tier before your offer letter
DOL sets four wage levels for Security Analyst roles based on experience and supervision. Your offer must meet or exceed the certified prevailing wage for your location. Look up the current rate using the OFLC Wage Search before accepting any offer to avoid a wage-based PERM denial.
Ask about I-140 concurrent filing during negotiations
Some employers file the I-140 petition simultaneously with PERM approval, shortening your overall timeline. For candidates from countries with long EB-3 backlogs, an earlier priority date matters significantly. Confirm your employer's approach before signing your offer.

Find Security Analyst JobsSecurity Analyst Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Security Analyst role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Security Analyst positions can qualify under either EB-2 or EB-3 depending on how the employer defines the role. EB-2 applies when the position requires an advanced degree or the equivalent in specialized experience. EB-3 covers roles requiring at least a bachelor's degree or two years of training. Your employer's job description, not your personal credentials alone, determines the category.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B sponsorship for Security Analysts?
H-1B is a temporary work visa with a two-year initial period, subject to annual lottery selection and cap limits. Green card sponsorship through PERM and I-140 has no annual cap at the EB-3 level for most countries, and approval leads to permanent residency rather than renewable status. The tradeoff is timeline: PERM labor certification alone typically takes six to eighteen months before the I-140 petition is even filed.
How long does the full green card process take for a Security Analyst?
The PERM labor certification stage currently averages around six to twelve months at DOL, though supervised recruitment steps can extend this. After PERM approval, the employer files Form I-140 with USCIS, which adds several additional months. If your priority date is current under the Visa Bulletin, you can then file for adjustment of status. Candidates from countries with high demand, such as India or China, face longer waits due to per-country limits at the final step.
Where can I find Security Analyst jobs that already sponsor green cards?
Migrate Mate lets you search specifically for Security Analyst positions where employers have an active green card sponsorship history. Filtering by role and sponsorship type upfront means you're not spending time applying to employers who haven't navigated PERM before, which is one of the most common reasons sponsorship offers fall through during the hiring process.
Can my employer use the O*NET job classification to support my PERM application?
O*NET occupation profiles are a standard reference DOL uses to assess whether a Security Analyst role meets specialty occupation and skilled-worker criteria. Your employer's attorney will typically align the PERM job description with the O*NET classification for Information Security Analysts to support the filing. Deviations from the standard classification need additional documentation explaining the specialized requirements of the specific position.
