Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring a Senior Product Designer to join our Product Design team. Oscar is the first health insurance company built around a full stack technology platform and a relentless focus on serving our members. We started Oscar in 2012 to create the kind of health insurance company we would want for ourselves—one that behaves like a doctor in the family.
About The Role
As a Senior Product Designer on the Network Pillar, you will partner closely with product managers, engineers, and operational stakeholders, to design and ship tools that power how Oscar evaluates, manages, and configures its provider network. You will be central to improving operational workflows and decision-making, ensuring internal teams can efficiently assess network adequacy, performance, and provider relationships. The Network Pillar is shaping a suite of new products that bring critical capabilities in-house, helping Oscar ensure its network of providers and services remains comprehensive, high-quality, and accessible to members nationwide. This designer will play a key role in shaping the tools that enable Oscar’s teams to maintain and grow strong partnerships with providers, all while driving a consistent, scalable, and intuitive experience across the company’s network management ecosystem. The ideal candidate brings strong systems thinking, experience designing SaaS or internal tools, and the ability to work autonomously from discovery through delivery—balancing speed, clarity, and user empathy across complex technical domains. You will report into the Senior Director, Product Design.

Align your portfolio to PERM job requirements
PERM requires your employer to document that your background matches the job description on file with DOL. Frame your portfolio case studies around the specific skills and deliverables listed in the offered role to avoid a mismatch during audit.
Verify your degree field matches the role
EB-2 eligibility for Senior Product Design often hinges on whether your degree is in a directly related field like interaction design or HCI. USCIS scrutinizes degrees in unrelated disciplines, so get a credential evaluation completed before your employer files.
Target employers with active PERM filing history
Not all design studios or tech companies sponsor green cards. Use Migrate Mate to filter Senior Product Design roles by employers who have filed PERM applications, so you're applying to companies already set up for employment-based sponsorship.
Ask about prevailing wage before accepting an offer
DOL requires employers to pay at least the prevailing wage for your role and location before PERM is approved. Cross-check the offered salary against the OFLC Wage Search for your job's SOC code and metro area before signing.
Distinguish EB-3 from EB-2 during employer conversations
Many hiring managers assume green card sponsorship means one process. Clarify early whether the role qualifies for EB-2 or EB-3 based on the degree requirement, since EB-2 cuts processing time significantly for most countries.
Request concurrent I-485 filing if your priority date allows
Once your employer files the I-140, check the USCIS Visa Bulletin to see if concurrent adjustment of status filing is available. Filing I-485 and I-140 together shortens the wait for work authorization while your green card is pending.
Green Card Senior Product Design: Frequently Asked Questions
Do Senior Product Design roles qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Senior Product Design positions typically qualify for EB-3 when the employer requires a bachelor's degree in design, HCI, or a related field. EB-2 applies when the role genuinely requires an advanced degree or the candidate holds one that is directly relevant. USCIS evaluates both the job description and your credentials, so the classification depends on how the employer drafts the PERM application.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B for a Senior Product Design role?
H-1B visa is temporary and subject to an annual lottery, while EB-2 and EB-3 green cards are permanent and have no cap for most countries at the EB-3 level. The PERM process takes longer upfront because DOL requires a supervised recruitment phase before your employer files. The payoff is permanent residency rather than recurring renewals and lottery risk.
How long does the PERM process take for a Senior Product Design position?
PERM labor certification currently runs six to twelve months from filing to DOL decision, though audit or denial adds time. After PERM approval, your employer files Form I-140 with USCIS. If your priority date is current on the Visa Bulletin, you can file for adjustment of status. From start to finish, a straightforward case for most nationalities takes two to four years.
Where can I find Senior Product Design jobs that include green card sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lets you filter Senior Product Design roles specifically by employers with PERM filing history, so you're not guessing which companies will sponsor. Searching this way focuses your time on opportunities where the employer has already demonstrated willingness to navigate the employment-based green card process.
What documentation should I prepare before a Senior Product Design employer starts PERM?
Gather official transcripts, any foreign credential evaluation reports, and employment verification letters that confirm your prior roles match the specialty. PERM audits often request evidence that your qualifications meet the minimum stated requirements, and gaps in documentation can delay the process by months. Having a complete credentials file ready before your employer files avoids back-and-forth with DOL.
