Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship in Telemetry RN
Get your CGFNS credential evaluation early
Your foreign nursing degree must be evaluated by CGFNS before most U.S. employers can file your PERM application. Start this process months ahead, as reviews routinely take 12 to 16 weeks and delays here stall every downstream step.
Target hospitals with active PERM filing history
Not every hospital system that hires travel nurses will sponsor a green card. Search DOL PERM disclosure data to identify health systems that have consistently filed labor certifications for RN roles, especially telemetry and step-down units.
Use Migrate Mate to find sponsoring employers
Filter your Telemetry RN job search on Migrate Mate to surface employers with verified green card sponsorship history. This cuts out the guesswork of cold-applying to facilities that don't sponsor EB-3 petitions for foreign nurses.
Confirm your NCLEX licensure covers the hiring state
PERM requires the employer to list the state-specific license requirement in the job description. If you hold a compact state license, verify it's valid in the employer's state before the labor certification is filed, because amending it later restarts the clock.
Understand the PERM recruitment documentation burden
Your employer must run DOL-mandated recruitment steps, including job postings and a 30-day wait period, before filing PERM. Ask during the offer stage whether the facility has in-house immigration staff or retains counsel, since under-resourced HR teams frequently miss filing deadlines.
Check USCIS processing times before accepting priority dates
If you're from a backlogged country such as India or China, EB-3 priority dates can extend waits significantly even after your I-140 is approved. Review USCIS's monthly Visa Bulletin before signing any employment contract tied to a specific start timeline.
Green Card Telemetry RN: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Telemetry RN role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship?
Telemetry RN positions are typically sponsored under EB-3, which covers skilled workers requiring at least two years of training or a bachelor's degree. EB-2 requires an advanced degree or a demonstration of strong professional credentials beyond standard RN licensure. Most hospital PERM filings for telemetry nurses use the EB-3 skilled worker category because the role's minimum requirement is a BSN or an ADN plus experience.
How does PERM green card sponsorship differ from H-1B sponsorship for RNs?
H-1B visas are temporary, subject to an annual lottery cap, and must be renewed every three years. PERM-based EB-3 sponsorship leads to permanent residency with no lottery and no annual renewal. The process takes longer overall, typically two to four years from PERM filing to a green card, but the outcome is lawful permanent residence rather than a recurring visa cycle.
How can I find Telemetry RN jobs that actually sponsor green cards?
Most job postings don't specify PERM sponsorship availability upfront. Migrate Mate is built specifically for foreign professionals seeking employment-based green card sponsorship, so you can filter Telemetry RN listings by employers with verified EB-3 filing history rather than applying broadly and asking about sponsorship after the fact.
What credential steps must I complete before an employer can file my PERM application?
You'll need a CGFNS credential evaluation confirming your foreign nursing degree meets U.S. equivalency standards, an active NCLEX-RN license in the hiring state, and English proficiency documentation if your primary nursing education wasn't in English. Some employers also require VisaScreen certification, which incorporates CGFNS evaluation, NCLEX verification, and IELTS or TOEFL scores into a single package.
Can my employer file my PERM while I'm working in the U.S. on a temporary visa?
Yes. If you're currently authorized to work in the U.S., your employer can file your PERM labor certification while you remain in status. After PERM approval and I-140 petition approval, you can file for adjustment of status without leaving the country, provided a visa number is available for your category and country of birth per the USCIS Visa Bulletin.
