H-1B Visa Account Project Manager Jobs
Account Project Manager roles qualify for H-1B sponsorship as specialty occupations requiring a bachelor's degree in business, communications, or a related field. Employers file a Labor Condition Application with DOL before petitioning USCIS, and the annual cap means timing your job search around the April lottery window matters.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding H-1B Visa Sponsorship as an Account Project Manager
Document your degree's field alignment
USCIS scrutinizes whether your degree directly relates to account project management. Pull your transcripts and map coursework in project planning, business analysis, or communications to the job description before your employer files the LCA.
Target employers with active LCA history
Use Migrate Mate to filter Account Project Manager roles by verified DOL Labor Condition Application filings, so you're only applying to employers who have already committed to the H-1B sponsorship process for this occupation.
Check prevailing wage levels before negotiating
The LCA locks in a wage level tied to your location and job duties. Run the OFLC Wage Search for your metro area and SOC code before your offer stage so you know which wage tier your role will fall under.
Time your applications around the lottery window
H-1B petitions for cap-subject employers must be filed in April for an October 1 start. Start your account project manager job search no later than January so your employer has time to prepare the LCA and I-129 before the registration period opens.
Clarify whether the employer is cap-exempt
Universities, nonprofit research institutions, and certain government entities can file H-1B petitions year-round outside the annual cap. If you're open to account project management roles in higher education or research, these employers offer a faster, lottery-free path.
Align your job title to O*NET before filing
Your employer's attorney will use the O*NET occupation profile to establish that the role qualifies as a specialty occupation. Make sure your official job title and duties in the offer letter match the O*NET description for project managers, not a generic coordinator role.

Find Account Project Manager JobsAccount Project Manager H-1B Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does an Account Project Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B purposes?
Yes, provided the position requires at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as business administration, marketing, communications, or project management. USCIS will evaluate whether the degree requirement is standard for the role at your employer and in the industry. Roles where any bachelor's degree is accepted regardless of field can face RFEs, so the offer letter and job duties should specify the required field.
How do I find Account Project Manager employers who sponsor H-1B visas?
Migrate Mate filters Account Project Manager listings by verified DOL Labor Condition Application history, showing you which employers have actively filed H-1B petitions for this occupation. This is more reliable than asking recruiters upfront, since LCA filings are public record and confirm a company has gone through the sponsorship process before.
What happens to my H-1B status if my account project manager contract ends early?
You have a 60-day grace period after your employment ends to find a new sponsoring employer, file for a change of status, or depart the U.S. During that window you can't work, but you can interview and receive a new H-1B petition. If a new employer files before the grace period expires and USCIS approves a change of employer, your status continues.
Can an Account Project Manager role at an agency or consultancy support H-1B sponsorship?
Yes, but third-party placement arrangements add complexity. USCIS requires the petitioning employer to have actual control over your work, which is harder to demonstrate when you're placed at a client site. Your employer will need to document supervisory oversight, the right to hire and fire, and that the specialty occupation requirements apply to the end-client work, not just the agency's general operations.
Does moving to a new city after my H-1B is approved affect my account project manager petition?
Yes. If you relocate to a different metropolitan area, your employer must file an amended H-1B petition with a new Labor Condition Application reflecting the prevailing wage for the new location before you begin working there. Short-term assignments under ten consecutive workdays generally don't require an amended filing, but a permanent transfer or remote work relocation does.
