H-1B Visa Project Executive Jobs
Project Executive roles qualify for H-1B sponsorship as specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in business, construction management, or a related field. Employers in construction, real estate development, and professional services regularly file H-1B petitions for this title. The annual cap applies, so timing your job search around the April lottery window matters.

Align your degree to the role
USCIS scrutinizes whether your degree field directly supports the Project Executive position. A business administration, civil engineering, or construction management degree strengthens your petition. A general humanities degree paired with this title invites a Request for Evidence.
Target cap-exempt employers first
Universities, nonprofit research institutions, and government-affiliated entities are cap-exempt, meaning they can file your H-1B petition any time of year. Project Executive roles exist at these organizations, and you skip the annual lottery entirely.
Verify the prevailing wage before negotiating
Your employer's Labor Condition Application must certify your offered wage meets the DOL prevailing wage for Project Executive in your metro area. Use the OFLC Wage Search to check Level III or IV wages before you counter, so your ask stays LCA-compliant.
Search for verified H-1B sponsors on Migrate Mate
Filter Project Executive openings by employers with documented H-1B filing history on Migrate Mate. That history signals the company has legal infrastructure and internal process for sponsorship, reducing the risk of an offer that stalls at HR approval.
Request premium processing in your offer negotiation
Standard H-1B adjudication can run several months. Ask your prospective employer to file with USCIS premium processing, which returns a decision in 15 business days. This is a legitimate ask, and many experienced sponsors include it by default.
Document your project oversight scope for the petition
Your employer's attorney needs evidence that the Project Executive role genuinely requires a specialized degree, not just managerial experience. Gather org charts, project charters, and budget authority records before the petition is drafted. Vague job duty letters draw RFEs.

Find Project Executive JobsProject Executive H-1B Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Project Executive role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B purposes?
Yes, if the position requires at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as construction management, civil engineering, architecture, or business administration. USCIS evaluates the specific duties of the role, not just the title. If your employer's job description allows any degree field or substitutes years of experience for education without a degree requirement, the petition is at higher risk of a Request for Evidence or denial.
Which industries sponsor H-1B visas most consistently for Project Executive positions?
Construction and real estate development firms, engineering and architecture companies, large consulting practices, and technology companies managing infrastructure or product rollouts regularly sponsor Project Executives. These employers have established H-1B filing programs and in-house or retained immigration counsel. You can browse employers with verified H-1B filing history for this role on Migrate Mate before applying.
How does the H-1B cap lottery affect my timeline as a Project Executive candidate?
USCIS opens H-1B registration in March each year for the fiscal year beginning October 1. If your employer is cap-subject, your petition enters the lottery pool, and employment can't begin before October 1 even if selected. Start your job search no later than January to allow time for offer negotiation, LCA filing, and registration preparation before the March window closes.
Can my employer sponsor me for H-1B if I'm already working in the U.S. on a different visa status?
Yes. If you're currently on F-1 OPT, L-1, TN, or another nonimmigrant status, your employer can file an H-1B change of status petition on your behalf. If selected in the lottery, your status changes to H-1B on October 1 without you needing to leave the U.S. You can continue working in your authorized status while the petition is pending, provided your current authorization doesn't expire.
What documentation should I prepare to support my H-1B petition for a Project Executive role?
Gather your academic transcripts and degree certificates, any professional credentials or certifications relevant to project management or your industry, and a detailed letter from your employer describing the specific duties and the degree requirement for the role. If your degree is from outside the U.S., a credential evaluation from a NACES-member service is typically required. Evidence of past projects you've led, including scope, budget, and team size, helps demonstrate the complexity of the position.
