H-1B Visa Advertising Sales Manager Jobs
Advertising Sales Manager roles qualify for H-1B sponsorship as specialty occupations requiring a bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field. Media companies, ad tech platforms, and digital publishers file H-1B petitions for these roles, though LCA prevailing wage requirements and the annual lottery make employer selection critical.

Map your degree to specialty occupation criteria
USCIS requires your degree to directly relate to the Advertising Sales Manager role. A marketing or business degree is cleanest. If yours is in communications or a adjacent field, document how your coursework maps to the job duties before applications go out.
Target ad tech and programmatic media employers
Digital advertising platforms, programmatic networks, and large media conglomerates file H-1B petitions far more consistently than local TV stations or print outlets. Use Migrate Mate to filter Advertising Sales Manager openings by verified LCA filing history.
Benchmark your offered salary against OFLC prevailing wages
Your employer's LCA must certify pay at or above the DOL prevailing wage for Advertising Sales Managers in the specific metro. Run the OFLC Wage Search for SOC code 11-2011 before your offer negotiation so you know the floor.
Ask employers about cap-exempt H-1B filing options
Universities, nonprofits, and certain research organizations are cap-exempt, letting your employer file outside the April lottery window. Some media and ad industry nonprofits qualify. Confirm cap-exempt status directly with the employer's immigration counsel before assuming lottery timing applies.
File I-129 with premium processing if start date is critical
Advertising sales teams often have revenue-tied start dates tied to upfronts or Q4 cycles. USCIS premium processing guarantees a decision within 15 business days, protecting your onboarding timeline when the employer needs you in seat before a sales cycle launches.
Use your 60-day grace period strategically between roles
If your current H-1B employer terminates your position, you have a 60-day grace period to secure a new sponsor and file an H-1B transfer. Keep your recent LCA and I-797 approval notices accessible so a new Advertising Sales Manager employer can file the transfer petition quickly.

Find Advertising Sales Manager JobsAdvertising Sales Manager H-1B Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does an Advertising Sales Manager role qualify as an H-1B specialty occupation?
Yes, provided the position genuinely requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field such as marketing, business, or advertising. USCIS scrutinizes sales roles more closely than engineering or tech positions, so the job description must specify degree requirements rather than treating the degree as a preference. Employers with a pattern of filing for this SOC code are generally better prepared to document specialty occupation status.
Which types of employers sponsor H-1B visas for Advertising Sales Managers?
Digital advertising platforms, large media companies, programmatic ad networks, and marketing technology firms are the most active H-1B sponsors for this role. Traditional broadcast and print employers sponsor far less frequently. Migrate Mate surfaces employers with verified LCA filing history for Advertising Sales Manager titles, so you can focus your search on companies that have already sponsored the role.
How does the H-1B prevailing wage requirement affect Advertising Sales Manager offers?
Your employer must certify on the Labor Condition Application that your salary meets or exceeds the DOL prevailing wage for Advertising Sales Managers in the specific metropolitan area where you'll work. Wage levels are tiered by experience, with Level I being entry and Level IV being senior. You can verify the applicable wage using the OFLC Wage Search before evaluating any offer.
Can I transfer my H-1B to a new Advertising Sales Manager employer mid-status?
Yes. H-1B portability under AC21 lets you start working for a new employer once the transfer petition is filed with USCIS, without waiting for approval. Your new employer files a new I-129 petition with a fresh LCA. You can begin in the new role as soon as USCIS receives the petition, as long as your prior H-1B was approved and you've maintained valid status.
Does the O*NET classification for Advertising Sales Manager support H-1B specialty occupation arguments?
O*NET classifies Advertising Sales Agents under SOC 41-3011 as a Job Zone 3 occupation, which typically requires some post-secondary education but does not mandate a four-year degree by default. Employers filing for managerial-level roles often cite internal job requirements and industry norms to support specialty occupation status. An immigration attorney can help structure the petition evidence when the O*NET baseline is not definitively degree-requiring.
