Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding H-1B Visa Sponsorship in Cloud Solutions Architect
Align your credentials to specialty occupation
USCIS evaluates whether your degree field directly relates to the Cloud Solutions Architect role. A computer science or information systems degree maps cleanly; a business or unrelated degree may require a credential evaluation showing substantial coursework in cloud infrastructure or systems design.
Search LCA filings by architecture job codes
Use the OFLC Wage Search to filter Labor Condition Applications by SOC code 15-1299 or 15-1251 and your target metro. Employers with recent certified LCAs for architecture roles have already cleared the prevailing-wage step and are structurally ready to sponsor.
Find H-1B sponsors on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters Cloud Solutions Architect listings to employers with verified H-1B filing history, so you're not guessing which companies will actually sponsor. Start your search there before applying broadly.
Clarify employer cap-exempt status early
Universities, nonprofit research institutions, and government research organizations are cap-exempt, meaning they can file H-1B petitions outside the annual lottery. Cloud architecture roles exist at many of these entities, and a cap-exempt offer removes lottery risk entirely.
Request premium processing at the offer stage
USCIS premium processing reduces the adjudication window to 15 business days. Negotiate this into your offer before signing if you need certainty on your start date, since standard processing for H-1B petitions can run several months past October 1.
Document multi-cloud certifications for RFE defense
USCIS issues Requests for Evidence on architecture roles when the connection between your degree and job duties isn't obvious. Attach AWS, Azure, or GCP certification records alongside your offer letter to reinforce that the position requires specialized technical knowledge, not general IT skills.

Find Cloud Solutions Architect JobsCloud Solutions Architect H-1B Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Cloud Solutions Architect role qualify as an H-1B specialty occupation?
Yes. USCIS classifies Cloud Solutions Architect positions as specialty occupations because the role typically requires at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related technical field. The O*NET profile for this occupation confirms a Job Zone 4 or 5 classification, which reinforces the degree-requirement argument employers make in the H-1B petition.
How do I find employers who will actually sponsor an H-1B for this role?
Migrate Mate filters Cloud Solutions Architect listings to companies with verified H-1B filing history, so you can focus your applications on employers who have sponsored the visa type before. You can also cross-reference the OFLC Wage Search to see which companies have certified Labor Condition Applications for architecture-level SOC codes in your target location.
What happens to my H-1B status if I change employers after being sponsored as a Cloud Solutions Architect?
You can port to a new employer under H-1B portability rules once your petition has been approved and you've been in valid H-1B status. The new employer must file a transfer petition before your current employment ends. Because Cloud Solutions Architect roles are consistently classified as specialty occupations, the transfer petition typically faces the same scrutiny as the original filing.
Can my employer file an H-1B for a fully remote Cloud Solutions Architect position?
Yes, but the LCA must list every worksite location where you'll regularly perform duties, including your home address if you're working remotely. DOL requires a separate LCA or LCA amendment for each distinct worksite. Employers who shift you to a new state or metro area after filing may need to file an amended H-1B petition with USCIS to reflect the change.
What documentation should I gather before my employer starts the H-1B filing process?
Prepare your academic transcripts and degree certificates, any professional certifications in cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, your current resume with project-level technical detail, and a copy of your most recent I-94 record. If your degree is from outside the U.S., arrange a credential evaluation from a NACES-member evaluator so your employer's attorney can use it to satisfy the specialty occupation degree requirement.
