H-1B Visa ERP Consultant Jobs
ERP Consultant roles consistently qualify as H-1B visa specialty occupations because they require at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field. Large enterprise software implementers and consulting firms file H-1B petitions annually, making this one of the more active job titles in the sponsorship market.

Align your resume to LCA job codes
Your resume title and experience must match the job code your employer files on the Labor Condition Application. A mismatch between 'ERP Consultant' and the DOL wage level on your LCA is a common RFE trigger.
Verify your degree supports specialty occupation
USCIS scrutinizes ERP roles where multiple degree fields are accepted. A degree in computer science or information systems gives you a cleaner specialty occupation argument than a general business degree paired with unrelated work history.
Search verified H-1B sponsors on Migrate Mate
Filter by ERP Consultant roles on Migrate Mate to see which employers have active LCA filing history for this job title. That history tells you which companies have cleared the DOL wage certification process before.
Target consulting firms over end-user companies
ERP consulting firms file H-1B petitions as their standard practice and have established relationships with immigration counsel. End-user companies implementing a one-time ERP rollout may have no prior sponsorship infrastructure, making approvals slower and less predictable.
Clarify client-site work before accepting an offer
ERP Consultants often work at client locations under contracts. Your employer must document the actual worksite on the LCA and maintain a public access file at that location. Confirm your employer handles multi-site LCA compliance before the petition is filed.
Request premium processing for project-driven timelines
ERP go-live schedules rarely accommodate standard USCIS processing windows. Ask your employer upfront whether they'll file Form I-907 for premium processing, which gives USCIS a 15-business-day adjudication window rather than the standard months-long timeline.
H-1B Visa ERP Consultant: Frequently Asked Questions
Does an ERP Consultant role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B purposes?
Yes, provided the position requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific technical or business field such as computer science, information systems, or supply chain management. USCIS will look at whether the employer consistently hires degreed candidates for this role and whether your degree field directly relates to the job duties. Generic job descriptions that accept any bachelor's degree can draw RFEs, so your offer letter should specify the required field.
How do ERP Consultant consulting arrangements affect my H-1B petition?
When you work at a client site rather than your petitioning employer's office, your employer must file an LCA that covers the client location and post a notice there. They also need an end-client letter confirming your assignment details and duration. USCIS pays close attention to third-party placement arrangements for consulting roles, so gaps in documentation or vague project scopes are common RFE triggers for ERP Consultants specifically.
What wage level should my employer use on the LCA for an ERP Consultant?
Wage level depends on your actual job duties, complexity, and supervision level, not just your title. ERP Consultants handling complex multi-module implementations with independent judgment typically qualify at Level III or IV. Your employer determines the appropriate level using the OFLC Wage Search and the prevailing wage for your occupation code and worksite location. Being slotted too low can raise USCIS concerns about the role's complexity.
Which employers actively sponsor H-1B visas for ERP Consultant positions?
Large enterprise technology consulting firms and ERP platform partners file the majority of H-1B petitions for this job title. End-user companies doing a one-time implementation are less consistent sponsors. You can browse ERP Consultant roles from verified H-1B sponsoring employers on Migrate Mate, which surfaces employers with documented LCA filing history for this specific occupation.
Can I switch ERP platforms or specializations mid-H-1B without filing a new petition?
A change in your core job duties may require an amended H-1B petition if the role materially differs from what USCIS originally approved. Moving from supporting one ERP module to a completely different platform with different skill requirements can constitute a material change. Discuss the scope of the role change with your employer's immigration counsel before taking on new responsibilities to avoid unauthorized employment.
