INTRODUCTION
1-800-FLOWERS.COM, Inc. is seeking an accomplished Enterprise Account Executive to acquire and onboard new business customers to our self-service gifting platform. This is a hunter role for a seller who enjoys opening doors, building pipelines from the ground up, and closing complex B2B opportunities.
The Account Executive owns the new-business sales cycle from target-account selection and outbound prospecting through discovery, solution development, negotiation, close, and onboarding coordination. The role engages decision-makers across Human Resources, Employee Experience, Procurement, Finance, Sales, Marketing, Customer Experience, Operations, and executive leadership.
The successful candidate will represent the full 1-800-FLOWERS.COM, Inc. family of brands, including 1-800-Flowers.com, Harry & David, Personalization Mall, Cheryl's Cookies, The Popcorn Factory, and other portfolio brands. The goal is to create scalable gifting programs supported by flexible purchasing, procurement, and invoicing options.
What You Will Sell
You will help organizations use gifting to recognize employees, strengthen customer and partner relationships, and mark important personal and business moments. Programs may include:
- Employee recognition, rewards, milestones, service anniversaries, and work-from-home programs
- Customer appreciation, retention, loyalty, and surprise-and-delight initiatives
- Sales incentives and recognition for channel partners, agents, and prospects
- Holiday, seasonal, meeting, event, conference, and promotional gifting
- Life-event gifting, including sympathy, get-well, new baby, and birthdays
- Centralized or distributed ordering through the self-service platform, with procurement or invoicing options where supported
Our approach centers on meaningful experiences and measurable business value rather than discount-led selling.
What You Will Do
Win New Enterprise Business
- Build a self-generated pipeline through cold calling, personalized email, LinkedIn and social selling, referrals, networking, events, partnerships, and account-based prospecting.
- Research target companies, identify business triggers, map buying committees, and create account-specific engagement strategies.
- Engage senior decision-makers and champions across the functions involved in enterprise gifting and purchasing.
- Consistently achieve activity, pipeline, new-account, revenue, and profitability goals.
- Travel approximately 20–25% to support customer and prospect meetings, industry events, conferences, networking opportunities, and other business-development activities as needed.
Own the Full Sales Cycle
- Lead opportunities from first outreach through qualification, discovery, presentation, proposal, negotiation, contracting, and close.
- Translate customer needs into a clear enterprise gifting solution using the appropriate brands, products, platform capabilities, and purchasing options.
- Deliver persuasive presentations, platform demonstrations, proposals, and business cases that show strategic value and expected outcomes.
- Navigate complex buying processes involving procurement, finance, legal, information security, operations, and executive sponsors.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, program commitments, and commercial arrangements while protecting long-term customer and company value.
Enable Platform Adoption
- Position the self-service platform as a scalable solution for centralized and distributed corporate gifting.
- Explain ordering, account management, billing, reporting, invoicing, and procurement options in clear business terms.
- Identify implementation and integration requirements early, then partner with technical, finance, legal, operations, and customer-success teams to define a feasible solution.
- Coordinate the transition from signed agreement to account setup, training, launch, and early adoption.
- Maintain accurate activity, pipeline, next-step, and forecast information in Salesforce and provide reliable revenue forecasts.
What Success Looks Like
- A consistent, qualified pipeline of net-new enterprise opportunities
- Outbound prospecting that converts into executive-level discovery meetings
- New customers that align with Enterprise growth and profitability goals
- Closed business involving multiple stakeholders and complex procurement requirements
- Successful onboarding, early platform adoption, and initial purchasing activity
- Broader customer engagement across brands, occasions, and gifting use cases
- Accurate Salesforce data, dependable forecasts, and achievement of revenue targets
REQUIREMENTS
Required Qualifications
- Five or more years of quota-carrying B2B sales, business development, platform sales, or strategic-partnership experience
- Demonstrated success prospecting for and closing net-new business
- A strong hunter mindset and the resilience to create opportunities rather than rely primarily on inbound leads
- Experience building a self-generated pipeline and owning the full sales cycle
- A record of meeting or exceeding sales goals in a consultative environment
- Ability to engage senior leaders and navigate multi-stakeholder buying groups
- Strong presentation, written communication, negotiation, closing, organization, and follow-up skills
- Working proficiency with Salesforce or a comparable CRM
- Ability to collaborate across functions while retaining personal ownership of results
- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Ability and willingness to travel approximately 20–25% based on business needs
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience selling enterprise platforms, e-commerce, corporate gifting, employee recognition, incentives, rewards, procurement solutions, or related B2B services
- Familiarity with eProcurement workflows, purchase orders, credit terms, and consolidated invoicing
- Experience selling into HR, Employee Experience, Procurement, Finance, Sales, Marketing, Customer Experience, or Operations
- Experience guiding opportunities through legal, information-security, finance, and procurement review
The Ideal Candidate
You are energized by finding business that does not yet exist. You know how to research an account, develop a point of view, reach the right stakeholders, and earn a conversation. You are persistent without being transactional and disciplined about turning activity into qualified pipeline.
You sell business outcomes rather than product lists. You are credible with executives, attentive to operational and procurement details, and capable of coordinating a complex opportunity without losing momentum. You take ownership from the first prospecting touch through a successful customer launch.

Map your degree to the role
USCIS scrutinizes KAM petitions where the degree field isn't clearly tied to the position. Frame your business, marketing, or communications degree as directly required for managing complex client relationships and revenue strategy in your target industry.
Target industries with consistent LCA filings
Enterprise software, medical devices, and financial services companies file LCAs for KAM roles at higher rates than others. Use the OFLC Wage Search to confirm an employer has filed for your SOC code before investing time in their process.
Search verified H-1B employers on Migrate Mate
Filter KAM openings by employers with active H-1B filing history on Migrate Mate. This surfaces companies that have already navigated the sponsorship process for comparable roles, reducing the risk of pursuing employers unfamiliar with H-1B requirements.
Negotiate offer timing around the cap deadline
H-1B cap petitions must be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start. If you receive an offer in late spring, your start date shifts to the following fiscal year. Factor this into offer negotiations so the employer holds the role through the gap.
Confirm the employer will cover LCA wage requirements
Your offer salary must meet the prevailing wage for your KAM SOC code in that metro area, certified by DOL on the LCA. Verify the wage level against the OFLC Wage Search before signing so you aren't renegotiating after the petition is filed.
Prepare a specialty occupation evidence file
USCIS often issues RFEs for KAM petitions, questioning whether the role requires a specific degree. Collect job postings from comparable employers, O*NET occupation data for your SOC code, and your offer letter detailing duties that require degree-level expertise.
H-1B Visa Key Account Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Key Account Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B purposes?
It depends on how the employer defines the position. USCIS requires that the role normally requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field. KAM roles in enterprise software, financial services, or medical devices typically qualify because they require applied knowledge in a specialized domain. Generic sales roles without a degree requirement are more likely to receive an RFE or denial.
How do I find Key Account Manager jobs at employers who sponsor H-1B visas?
Search on Migrate Mate, which filters openings by verified H-1B filing history. This shows you which employers have already petitioned USCIS for comparable roles, so you're not relying on an employer's claims about sponsorship willingness. Prioritize companies with a pattern of LCA filings in your target industry and metro area.
What happens to my H-1B status if I'm laid off from a Key Account Manager role?
You have a 60-day grace period after your employment ends to find a new sponsoring employer, file a change of status, or begin departure. If a new employer files an H-1B transfer petition before the 60 days expire, your work authorization continues while USCIS processes the petition. Act immediately rather than waiting to see how long the grace period lasts.
Can a Key Account Manager role support an H-1B transfer to a new employer?
Yes. H-1B portability allows you to transfer your petition to a new employer once USCIS has filed and receipted the new petition, without waiting for approval. Your new employer files an LCA and I-129, and you can start working for them as soon as USCIS issues the receipt notice, provided your previous H-1B was approved and you're transferring in status.
What documentation strengthens an H-1B petition for a Key Account Manager position?
The employer needs to demonstrate the role requires a specific degree, not just any bachelor's. Useful supporting documents include an offer letter detailing technical or industry-specific duties, O*NET data showing the occupation's educational requirements, and comparable job postings from competitors listing a required degree in your field. A strong LCA wage level also reduces RFE risk.
