H-1B Visa Sales Development Manager Jobs
Sales Development Manager roles qualify for H-1B sponsorship as specialty occupations requiring a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field. Employers file the Labor Condition Application before your petition, and the annual cap means timing your job search around the April lottery window matters.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding H-1B Visa Sponsorship as a Sales Development Manager
Frame your degree against specialty occupation standards
USCIS requires your degree field to directly relate to the Sales Development Manager role. A marketing, business administration, or communications degree strengthens the specialty occupation argument. A general studies degree may trigger a Request for Evidence.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Use Migrate Mate to filter Sales Development Manager roles by employers who have filed Labor Condition Applications for this occupation code, so you're only applying where H-1B sponsorship is already operational, not theoretical.
Check prevailing wage levels before negotiating salary
Run your target job title and location through the OFLC Wage Search before entering salary discussions. Your offer must meet the DOL prevailing wage for the role's SOC code, and knowing the floor prevents you from accepting a non-compliant offer.
Distinguish between cap-subject and cap-exempt employers
Universities, nonprofit research institutions, and government-related entities can file H-1B petitions year-round outside the annual cap. Sales Development Manager roles at these organizations let you bypass the April lottery entirely.
Verify the role's SOC code matches your actual responsibilities
Sales Development Manager positions are sometimes coded under Sales Managers (SOC 11-2022) or Marketing Managers (SOC 11-2021). Check the O*NET profile for each code to confirm the duties description matches what you'll actually do, since misclassification creates RFE risk.

Find Sales Development Manager JobsSales Development Manager H-1B Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Sales Development Manager role qualify as an H-1B specialty occupation?
Yes, provided the employer documents that the position normally requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as business, marketing, or communications. Roles where any degree field is acceptable, or where experience substitutes freely for education, can face USCIS scrutiny. The job description and internal hiring standards both factor into the specialty occupation determination.
Which employers sponsor H-1B visas for Sales Development Manager positions?
Technology companies, SaaS businesses, and enterprise software firms are the most consistent H-1B sponsors for Sales Development Manager roles because their sales functions are closely tied to technical products that require specialized knowledge. Browse verified H-1B sponsoring employers for this role on Migrate Mate, which filters listings by confirmed Labor Condition Application filing history.
How does the H-1B cap lottery affect my job search timeline as a Sales Development Manager?
USCIS opens H-1B registration each March for the fiscal year beginning October 1. If you're selected, your employer files the full petition by late June, and your status begins October 1. Plan your job search to have an offer in hand by February so your employer can register in time. Missing the window means waiting a full year unless your employer is cap-exempt.
Can I switch employers as an H-1B holder in a Sales Development Manager role?
Yes, H-1B portability under AC21 lets you start working for a new employer once they file a new petition on your behalf, without waiting for approval, as long as your original petition has been approved and you've maintained valid status. Your new employer must file an H-1B transfer and certify a new Labor Condition Application reflecting the new role's prevailing wage.
What documents should I prepare before applying for Sales Development Manager roles as an H-1B candidate?
Gather your degree transcripts and diploma, a credential evaluation if your degree is from outside the U.S., and any certifications relevant to sales management. You'll also want a detailed resume that maps your experience to the specific duties in the SOC code description, since your employer's attorney will use it to build the specialty occupation argument in the H-1B petition.
