Document your degree-to-role alignment
USCIS requires specialty occupation proof, so gather transcripts showing coursework in business, marketing, or communications. A general sales background alone won't satisfy the requirement if your degree field isn't directly tied to enterprise account management.
Target employers with active LCA filings
Use Migrate Mate to filter Enterprise Account Manager roles by employers with verified H-1B filing history. DOL Labor Condition Application data shows which companies have filed for this exact job title, not just general sales positions.
Look beyond software for H-1B sponsors
Enterprise account management roles in cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, and B2B SaaS file the most H-1B petitions for this title. Fintech and healthcare technology companies also file consistently, and are often overlooked by candidates focused only on major software firms.
Request premium processing before your offer expires
Standard H-1B adjudication can take several months. If your OPT or current status is expiring, ask your employer explicitly about USCIS premium processing during the offer stage, before the I-129 is filed, so there's no gap in your work authorization.
Verify prevailing wage before evaluating offers
Your employer must certify your salary meets DOL prevailing wage for your work location and SOC code. Run the OFLC Wage Search for your city before accepting an offer, since prevailing wage for Enterprise Account Manager varies significantly between metro areas.
Clarify quota-exempt status with cap-exempt employers
Universities, nonprofit research institutions, and government-related entities are cap-exempt, meaning they can file an H-1B for you outside the 85,000 annual cap. Enterprise account roles at these organizations exist and don't require lottery selection.
H-1B Visa Enterprise Account Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
Does an Enterprise Account Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B purposes?
It depends on how the employer defines the position. If the role requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field like business administration, marketing, or information technology, it can qualify. Generic sales roles that accept any degree or no degree don't meet the specialty occupation standard. The strongest cases pair a relevant degree requirement with responsibilities tied to complex technical or enterprise-level products.
Which industries sponsor H-1B visas most often for Enterprise Account Manager positions?
Enterprise software, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and B2B SaaS companies file H-1B petitions for this role most frequently. These employers regularly manage LCA filings for account management titles because their products require degree-level expertise to sell and support. You can search verified sponsors by job title on Migrate Mate, which filters employers using DOL Labor Condition Application data specific to this role.
Can I switch employers on an H-1B as an Enterprise Account Manager?
Yes. Under H-1B portability rules, you can start working for a new employer as soon as they file a new I-129 petition on your behalf, without waiting for approval, provided your previous H-1B was approved and you've maintained valid status. Your new employer must file before your current status expires and must obtain a new LCA certified by DOL for the new position and work location.
How does the H-1B lottery affect Enterprise Account Manager job seekers?
The annual cap applies to most private-sector employers, with 65,000 slots in the regular cap and 20,000 additional slots for U.S. master's degree holders. USCIS runs a random electronic registration lottery each March for petitions with an October 1 start date. If you aren't selected, you can explore cap-exempt employers, pursue an alternative visa category, or reenter the lottery in the following fiscal year.
What should I ask a potential employer before accepting an Enterprise Account Manager offer as an H-1B candidate?
Confirm the employer has filed H-1B petitions before and works with immigration counsel. Ask whether they cover USCIS filing fees, whether they'll consider premium processing, and what happens to your sponsorship if the role changes or you're placed on a performance plan. Understanding their policy on employee-paid legal costs is also important, since some employers pass those fees to workers in ways that aren't always disclosed upfront.
