Job Summary
As a Senior Product Manager for Solution Design within the Partner Ecosystem Solution Development team, you will own the design and definition of partner-led solutions built jointly with strategic technology partners. You will translate partner and market needs into clear requirements and technical designs, recommend which solutions enter and advance through the incubation pipeline, and shape the technical form of each joint solution alongside partner product and engineering teams. You sit at the intersection of product, technology, and partnerships, turning ambiguous partner opportunities into validated, buildable, commercially sound solution designs.
This role helps determine what we build with our partners and why. You will work cross-functionally with Product Management, Partners & Alliances, Solution Development, Market Development, and Solution Delivery to ensure each solution is technically sound, aligned to market demand, and ready to scale.
Responsibilities
Solution Requirements & Definition:
- Translate partner capabilities and market needs into clear product requirements, specifications, and measurable success criteria
- Author and maintain solution requirements and solution definition documents that guide development teams from concept to validated design
- Define use cases, target outcomes, and acceptance criteria for each joint solution, and validate them with partners, customers, and internal stakeholders before committing build resources
Technical Design:
- Define the technical shape of joint solutions in partnership with partner product and engineering teams and internal architects, spanning infrastructure, networking, and AI/data center architectures
- Make and document key design decisions and trade-offs, balancing technical feasibility, cost, time-to-market, and customer value
- Drive resolution of open technical questions across the solution lifecycle and keep designs coherent
- Codify reference architectures into repeatable, configurable designs that solution design and delivery teams use to execute customer engagements without redesign
Roadmap & Portfolio:
- Maintain prioritization and the roadmap for which partner solutions are designed and advanced through the incubation pipeline
- Build the business case for each candidate solution: market opportunity, partner commitment, technical viability, and expected outcomes
- Track the solution portfolio across stages, balancing near-term delivery against longer-term bets, and make clear go / no-go and sequencing recommendations to leadership
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Act as a central design and product point of contact across Product Management, Partners & Alliances, Solution Development, Market Development, and Solution Delivery
- Align partner business development, product, and internal stakeholders on solution scope, design direction, and priorities
- Partner with Market Development on go-to-market strategy and launch readiness for each solution
- Lead design reviews and stage gates, and synthesize feedback into stronger solution definitions
Qualifications
- 7+ years in product management, solution design, or technical solution development within a technology, infrastructure, or partner ecosystem environment
- Demonstrated ownership of products or solutions from requirements through technical design and launch
- Strong technical fluency across infrastructure, networking, and/or AI/data center architectures, sufficient to lead design decisions with partner engineering teams (hands-on engineering not required)
- Proven ability to write clear business cases, solution requirements, go-to-market strategy, and reference architecture documentation
- Experience prioritizing a roadmap or portfolio and building business cases for investment
- Excellent communication skills, including aligning technical and commercial stakeholders and presenting design recommendations to leadership
- Experience with strategic technology partners or joint solution development strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical, business, or related field; equivalent experience considered

Verify your degree field supports sponsorship
Product management sits at the intersection of business, engineering, and design. Check O*NET for the SOC code your employer will use, the degree requirement listed there must align with your credential or USCIS may issue an RFE.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Use Migrate Mate to filter product management roles by employers who have filed LCAs for this occupation code. Employers with repeat filings are already familiar with the process, which shortens your time-to-offer.
Ask about prevailing wage level during offer negotiation
DOL assigns a wage level from I to IV on every LCA. Most senior product management roles are filed at Level III or IV. Confirm which level your employer is using and cross-check it against the OFLC Wage Search before accepting an offer.
Document cross-functional leadership for specialty occupation
USCIS scrutinizes whether product management genuinely requires a specific bachelor's degree. Collect performance reviews, org charts, and project records that show you exercised theoretical and practical application of computer science, engineering, or business, not just coordination.
Clarify timeline if your role spans the cap year
H-1B petitions filed for October 1 start dates must be registered in March. If your offer comes after April, your earliest start date is the following October 1. Confirm your employer understands this gap before you resign from a current employer.
Confirm E-Verify enrollment if you're on STEM OPT
If you're bridging to an H-1B while on a STEM OPT extension, your employer must be enrolled in E-Verify as a condition of that extension. Check enrollment status directly with your employer before your OPT end date.
H-1B Visa Manager, Product Management: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Manager, Product Management role qualify as an H-1B specialty occupation?
Yes, but the framing matters. USCIS requires that the role normally requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field, not just any degree. Product management roles tied to a technical product, platform, or system (software, hardware, data infrastructure) are more defensible than generalist or operations-focused PM titles. Your employer's job description and the LCA job duty language need to reflect that specificity.
How do I find product management employers who already sponsor H-1B visas?
Migrate Mate surfaces employers with active LCA filing histories for product management roles, so you're not starting from scratch. Employers who have filed LCAs before understand the process, have existing immigration counsel relationships, and are less likely to withdraw an offer due to sponsorship uncertainty.
Can I negotiate my title or scope after the H-1B is filed?
Significant changes to your role after filing can trigger an amended petition requirement. If your title changes from Manager to Senior Manager, or your team scope expands substantially, your employer may need to file an amended I-129 with USCIS. Small scope changes within the same specialty occupation generally don't require amendment, but your employer's immigration counsel should confirm.
What happens if my H-1B petition gets an RFE for a product management role?
Requests for Evidence on product management petitions typically challenge whether the role genuinely requires a specific degree field. Your employer's attorney will need to submit evidence that the duties are theoretical and practical in nature, job postings from comparable companies, expert opinion letters, and documentation of your educational background and how it applies to the role's technical requirements.
How does the H-1B cap lottery affect my product management job search timeline?
USCIS opens H-1B registration in March for an October 1 start date. If you're selected, your employer files the full petition between April and June. If you receive an offer after the registration window closes, your earliest cap-subject start date is the following October 1. Some large universities and nonprofit research organizations are cap-exempt, which removes this constraint entirely.
