This is a great opportunity for a highly technical analyst who is hands-on with Python, Databricks, and SQL, and is excited about creating the infrastructure that enables AI for BI. You should apply if:
- You want to impact the industries that run our world: Your efforts will result in real-world impact—helping to keep the lights on, get food into grocery stores, reduce emissions, and most importantly, ensure workers return home safely.
- You are the architect of your own career: If you put in the work, this role won't be your last at Samsara. We set up our employees for success and have built a culture that encourages rapid career development, countless opportunities to experiment and master your craft in a hyper growth environment.

In this role, you will:
- Act as the bridge between Data Engineering and Marketing Analytics, designing, building, and maintaining robust ETL pipelines and "Gold Layer" tables in Databricks.
- Develop and document semantic layers, data dictionaries, and markdown files designed specifically to train and enable AI agents for scalable, self-serve BI.
- Develop dashboards and analyses to surface business-critical KPIs and assess sales and marketing performance.
- Perform ad-hoc reporting and deep dives to uncover key insights across programs and initiatives to inform strategy and decision making.
- Partner with marketing stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into scalable data models and analytics-ready datasets.
- Champion, role model, and embed Samsara's cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices.
Minimum requirements for the role:

- Comfort working in an exploratory environment, testing and iterating on new data sources and methodologies.
Total Rewards
At Samsara, we build for the people who keep the global economy moving. We want owners, not passengers, which is why our rewards are designed to fuel high-impact builders. Our compensation program delivers above-market total compensation through a combination of base salary, performance-based bonus/variable pay, and equity (for eligible roles) in a high-growth public company. We meaningfully differentiate pay for our top performers, who have the opportunity to earn above-market compensation that can outpace the broader market over time.
Beyond compensation, we provide the foundations that enable long-term success: a flexible, employee-led remote model, a professional development stipend, comprehensive health and parental leave plans, and more. If you're ready to build for the long term and own the outcome, your journey starts here.
Flexible Working
At Samsara, we embrace a flexible working model that caters to the diverse needs of our teams. Our offices are open for those who prefer to work in-person and we also support remote work where it aligns with our operational requirements. For certain positions, being close to one of our offices or within a specific geographic area is important to facilitate collaboration, access to resources, or alignment with our service regions. In these cases, the job description will clearly indicate any working location requirements. Our goal is to ensure that all members of our team can contribute effectively, whether they are working on-site, in a hybrid model, or fully remotely. All offers of employment are contingent upon an individual's ability to secure and maintain the legal right to work at the company and in the specified work location, if applicable.

Map your degree to SOC codes
Marketing Analytics Manager positions map to multiple SOC codes depending on employer classification. Pull the O*NET profile for your target title before applying so your resume and cover letter reflect the exact degree and skill language USCIS expects to see in a specialty occupation determination.
Verify LCA wage levels before negotiating
Your employer must certify your offered salary meets the prevailing wage for your work location. Run the OFLC Wage Search using the correct SOC code and metropolitan area before your offer letter is drafted so you can flag a Level 1 wage offer that may invite USCIS scrutiny.
Target employers with dedicated analytics teams
Companies with standalone marketing analytics functions file more defensible H-1B petitions because the role has a clear organizational home. Use Migrate Mate to filter for employers with verified H-1B LCA filing history in analytics and marketing occupations before submitting applications.
Time your application around the cap lottery
H-1B cap-subject petitions must be filed between April 1 and the cap is met, with the October 1 start date. If you're currently on OPT, confirm your OPT end date gives your employer enough runway to file and, if not selected, activate the cap-gap extension to stay authorized.
Prepare a specialty occupation evidence package
Marketing analytics roles occasionally receive USCIS Requests for Evidence questioning whether the position requires a specific degree. Gather job posting archives, internal org charts, and industry salary surveys from the Bureau of Labor Statistics showing degree requirements for this title in your industry before your employer files.
Clarify employer size before the petition is filed
H-1B filing fees differ based on whether your employer has 25 or fewer full-time equivalent employees versus 26 or more. Confirming this with HR early prevents last-minute form revisions and avoids delays, since USCIS rejects petitions with incorrect fee amounts outright.
H-1B Visa Marketing Analytics Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Marketing Analytics Manager role qualify as an H-1B specialty occupation?
Yes. USCIS treats Marketing Analytics Manager as a specialty occupation because the role normally requires a bachelor's degree or higher in marketing, statistics, economics, data science, or a closely related quantitative field. Employers strengthen the petition by documenting that a specific degree field is required, not just preferred, in the job description and internal hiring criteria.
Which employers sponsor H-1B visas for Marketing Analytics Manager positions?
Technology companies, e-commerce retailers, financial services firms, media companies, and large consumer goods brands are among the most active sponsors for this role. You can search employers with verified H-1B Labor Condition Application filing history in marketing and analytics occupations directly on Migrate Mate, which pulls data from DOL disclosure records so you can see sponsorship activity before applying.
How does the prevailing wage requirement affect a Marketing Analytics Manager offer?
Your employer must file a Labor Condition Application certifying your salary meets the prevailing wage for the role's SOC code and work location before USCIS will accept the H-1B petition. A Level 1 wage offer for a senior analytics role can invite scrutiny, so use the OFLC Wage Search to check the wage level appropriate to your experience and confirm it aligns with the offer.
Can I switch to a Marketing Analytics Manager role from a different H-1B occupation?
Yes, but your new employer must file a new H-1B petition before you start in the role. If you're already in H-1B status, you can begin work as soon as USCIS receives the petition under portability rules, provided you've been in valid H-1B status for at least 180 days and the new petition is non-frivolous. Confirm the SOC code and specialty occupation documentation match your actual duties.
What should I do if my H-1B petition for this role receives a Request for Evidence?
Marketing analytics RFEs typically challenge whether the position requires a specific degree field rather than any bachelor's degree. Your employer should respond with evidence showing the role is analytically complex, that colleagues in equivalent positions hold relevant degrees, and that industry standards as reflected in Bureau of Labor Statistics occupational data support the degree requirement. You have up to 87 days to respond, and USCIS will not extend this deadline.
