Align your credentials to SOC classification
Network Engineering Manager maps to SOC 11-3021 in USCIS adjudications. Pull your O*NET profile for this code and confirm your resume reflects the specialized degree and supervisory scope that support a specialty occupation determination.
Search LCA filings by job title
Use the OFLC Wage Search to filter certified Labor Condition Applications by "Network Engineering Manager" before you apply. Employers with recent LCA activity have already committed to the prevailing wage and are actively moving candidates through H-1B.
Target E-Verify enrolled employers directly
H-1B sponsors must be enrolled in E-Verify. Ask your recruiter to confirm enrollment before advancing to offer stage. Employers without E-Verify enrollment cannot legally proceed with your I-129, so this saves you from dead-end processes.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified sponsors
Migrate Mate surfaces employers with verified H-1B LCA filing history for network management roles, so you're targeting companies that have sponsored this title before rather than guessing from job descriptions.
Negotiate offer timing around cap deadlines
USCIS opens H-1B registration in March for an October 1 start. If you receive an offer after April, confirm your employer will file for the following fiscal year or pursue a cap-exempt pathway if the organization qualifies.
Prepare a specialty occupation evidence file
USCIS issues RFEs on Network Engineering Manager petitions when job duties appear generalist. Document that the role requires a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, electrical engineering, or a directly related field, citing internal job requirements and DOL wage data.

Find Network Engineering Manager JobsNetwork Engineering Manager H-1B Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Network Engineering Manager role qualify as an H-1B specialty occupation?
Yes. Network Engineering Manager falls under SOC code 11-3021, which USCIS recognizes as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, electrical engineering, or a closely related field. Your employer's petition must demonstrate that the specific position requires that degree level, not just that the company prefers it.
What level of H-1B prevailing wage applies to this role?
Prevailing wage for Network Engineering Manager is determined by DOL using the OFLC Wage Search tool, based on the job's geographic location and complexity. Most senior manager-level positions fall at wage levels III or IV. Your employer certifies this wage on the LCA before filing your I-129, and you're entitled to see that certified wage before accepting an offer.
How do I find employers who regularly sponsor H-1B visas for this role?
Migrate Mate filters employers by verified LCA filing history for network management titles, showing you which companies have actually sponsored this role rather than which ones list it as a possibility. You can also cross-check the OFLC public disclosure data to see how many petitions an employer has certified for manager-level network roles in recent fiscal years.
Can I transfer my H-1B to a new Network Engineering Manager role mid-status?
Yes, through H-1B portability under AC21 you can begin working for a new employer as soon as the transfer petition is filed, provided your current H-1B has been approved for at least 180 days. The new employer must file a new LCA at the prevailing wage for the destination location, and the role must still qualify as a specialty occupation.
Does managing a team affect how USCIS evaluates my H-1B petition?
It can help and complicate the petition at the same time. Supervisory duties strengthen the specialty occupation argument by showing the role operates at a high organizational level. However, if job duties are described as primarily administrative or general management, USCIS may issue an RFE questioning whether a specific technical degree is truly required. Your petition should detail the technical decisions you make, not just the people you manage.
