H-1B Visa Operations Support Specialist Jobs
Operations Support Specialist roles qualify for H-1B visa sponsorship when the position requires a bachelor's degree in a directly related field, business administration, information systems, or operations management. Employers must file a Labor Condition Application with DOL before your petition reaches USCIS, and the annual cap means timing your job search around the April lottery window matters.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding H-1B Visa Sponsorship as an Operations Support Specialist
Frame your degree against the LCA
Your H-1B petition lives or dies on the specialty occupation argument. Pull your official transcripts and map your degree field directly to the operations support duties listed in the job posting before you apply.
Target employers with E-Verify enrollment
STEM OPT and H-1B cap-exempt pathways both require E-Verify-enrolled employers. Filter your search to companies already registered, since non-enrolled employers face extra compliance steps that slow down or derail sponsorship timelines.
Use Migrate Mate to find H-1B filers
Search Migrate Mate to identify employers with verified H-1B LCA filing history for Operations Support roles. Targeting companies that have filed before cuts the risk of landing at an employer unfamiliar with the sponsorship process.
Check prevailing wage before salary talks
Run the OFLC Wage Search using SOC code 11-1021 or the closest operations match for your work location. Your offered salary must meet or exceed the DOL wage level, so knowing the floor before negotiating protects your petition.
Ask about cap-exempt status early
Universities, nonprofits affiliated with research institutions, and government research organizations are cap-exempt. If you're weighing multiple offers, a cap-exempt employer lets you file outside the April lottery window entirely.
Confirm I-129 filing timeline at offer stage
USCIS requires the I-129 petition to be filed no more than six months before your start date. If an employer's HR timeline pushes your start past October 1, your April registration window and your offer may not align.
H-1B Visa Operations Support Specialist: Frequently Asked Questions
Does an Operations Support Specialist role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B purposes?
It depends on how the employer defines the role. USCIS requires the position to normally require a bachelor's degree in a specific field. If the job posting lists business administration, information systems, supply chain, or operations management as the required degree, it typically qualifies. Generalist roles where any degree is acceptable are more likely to face a Request for Evidence.
Which industries sponsor H-1B visas most frequently for Operations Support roles?
Technology companies, logistics and supply chain firms, financial services, and healthcare systems file the most H-1B LCAs for operations-adjacent roles. These industries have established immigration programs and in-house HR teams familiar with the process. You can browse employers with active H-1B filing history for Operations Support Specialist positions on Migrate Mate.
How does the H-1B lottery affect my job search timeline as an Operations Support Specialist?
USCIS opens H-1B registration each March for the following fiscal year starting October 1. If you're selected, your employer can file the full petition in April for an October 1 start. That gap affects offer timing. Most employers hire H-1B candidates in late 2025 or early 2026 for an October 2026 start, so your job search should account for that lead time.
Can my employer use O*NET to support the specialty occupation argument for this role?
Yes. The O*NET profile for operations roles documents the typical education and knowledge requirements for the occupation. Employers and immigration attorneys frequently reference O*NET data in H-1B petitions to show that the position falls within a recognized specialty that normally requires a bachelor's degree in a related field.
What should I verify about prevailing wage before accepting an H-1B-sponsored offer?
Your employer must pay at least the DOL prevailing wage for your role, level, and work location. Run the OFLC Wage Search using your job's SOC code and zip code before you accept. If the offered salary falls below the Level I or Level II wage for your area, USCIS can flag the petition and DOL can audit the employer's LCA certification.
