Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding H-1B Visa Sponsorship as a Partner Manager
Verify your role meets specialty occupation
Partner Manager positions sometimes get RFEs because USCIS scrutinizes whether the role genuinely requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Document how your duties, such as structuring partner agreements or managing channel revenue, demand specialized business or marketing expertise.
Target employers with LCA filing history
Search the OFLC Wage Search to confirm a prospective employer has filed Labor Condition Applications for Partner Manager or business development titles. Prior LCA filings signal an active H-1B sponsorship infrastructure, reducing the risk of a promising offer collapsing at the HR approval stage.
Align your offer timing with the cap window
H-1B cap registration opens each March for an October 1 start. If you're on OPT, negotiate a start date that accounts for cap-gap coverage so you can keep working legally between your OPT expiration and H-1B activation without a gap in employment.
Build a degree-to-duties narrative now
Gather syllabi, transcripts, or a credential evaluation showing your degree directly maps to Partner Manager responsibilities. USCIS expects a clear theoretical and practical connection between your field of study and the specific duties in your offer letter.
Use Migrate Mate to find verified sponsors
Filter Partner Manager roles by H-1B sponsorship history on Migrate Mate. The platform surfaces employers whose DOL Labor Condition Application filings confirm active sponsorship for this job title, so you're not cold-applying to companies with no H-1B infrastructure.
Clarify the prevailing wage tier in your offer
DOL assigns Partner Manager roles to a wage level based on experience and supervision. Ask your employer which wage level their LCA will certify at Level I through IV, since a mismatch between your offer salary and the certified wage level can trigger a DOL audit after filing.
H-1B Visa Partner Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Partner Manager role qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
Yes, Partner Manager roles generally qualify as specialty occupations because they typically require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field. USCIS will evaluate whether your specific job duties, such as managing channel partnerships or driving co-sell revenue, require that theoretical and practical expertise. An offer letter that spells out degree-specific responsibilities strengthens the petition.
Which types of employers sponsor H-1B visas for Partner Manager positions?
Technology companies, SaaS platforms, enterprise software vendors, and cloud services firms sponsor H-1B visas for Partner Manager roles most frequently, since their partnership and channel programs depend on specialized business development expertise. You can identify employers with verified H-1B filing history for this title by browsing Partner Manager listings on Migrate Mate, which surfaces DOL Labor Condition Application data by role.
Can I change employers while on an H-1B as a Partner Manager?
Yes, H-1B portability under AC21 lets you start working for a new employer as soon as they file a new H-1B transfer petition, provided your original petition has been approved and your status is valid. Your new employer files a new I-129 and LCA specific to the Partner Manager role. You don't need to wait for approval before starting, but don't let your status lapse between jobs.
What happens if my Partner Manager duties change significantly after H-1B approval?
Material changes to your job duties, title, salary, or worksite require your employer to file an amended H-1B petition before the changes take effect. If your role expands from managing one partner tier to overseeing a full channel ecosystem with different responsibilities, USCIS treats that as a new position requiring a new filing. Failing to amend can affect your future immigration filings and status.
How does the prevailing wage requirement affect Partner Manager H-1B filings?
Before filing your H-1B petition, your employer must obtain a certified Labor Condition Application from DOL confirming your offered salary meets the prevailing wage for Partner Manager in your work location. DOL uses four wage levels based on experience and complexity. Employers use the OFLC Wage Search to determine the applicable wage floor. If your salary falls below the certified level, the LCA won't be approved and the H-1B can't proceed.
