Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding H-1B Visa Sponsorship as a Quality Program Manager
Verify your degree aligns with the role
USCIS requires your degree field to directly relate to quality program management. A degree in industrial engineering, operations management, or a related discipline strengthens your specialty occupation case more than a general business degree.
Search LCA filings by SOC code
Quality Program Manager roles file under SOC 11-9199. Use the OFLC Wage Search to filter certified LCAs by that code and identify employers actively filing for this title, not just those who mention sponsorship in job postings.
Target regulated industries with mandatory quality programs
Aerospace, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and automotive manufacturers run federally mandated quality programs under FDA, FAA, or IATF standards, creating recurring H-1B demand for this role that consumer goods companies rarely match.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified sponsors
Pull DOL Labor Condition Application filing history by occupation on Migrate Mate to see which employers have sponsored Quality Program Manager roles before. Employers with existing filings face fewer hurdles than those filing for this title the first time.
Clarify the prevailing wage level before accepting an offer
Quality Program Manager wages span Levels I through IV under DOL classifications. Ask HR which level their LCA will certify, since a Level I offer at a high-cost metro may fail the prevailing wage requirement and delay your petition.
Time your petition filing around premium processing
Quality program initiatives often have firm launch dates. If your start date is tied to a product launch or audit cycle, confirm with your employer whether premium processing is budgeted, since USCIS standard processing can run several months past your target date.
H-1B Visa Quality Program Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Quality Program Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B purposes?
Yes, when the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as industrial engineering, quality assurance, or operations management. Roles that accept any degree field or substitute experience freely are harder to qualify. Your employer's job description must demonstrate that the degree requirement is tied directly to the duties performed.
Which employers sponsor H-1B visas for Quality Program Manager positions?
Manufacturers in aerospace, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and automotive consistently file LCAs for this title because quality program oversight is built into their regulatory compliance obligations. You can browse employers with verified H-1B filing history for this role on Migrate Mate, filtering by industry and location to match your target market.
Can my employer file the H-1B petition before my program management role officially starts?
Yes. H-1B petitions are typically filed with a future start date, and USCIS allows employers to petition for cap-subject H-1Bs starting April 1 each year for an October 1 start. If you're already in the U.S. on another status, a change of status can be requested concurrently without leaving the country.
How does the prevailing wage requirement affect H-1B sponsorship for this role?
DOL requires your employer to pay at least the prevailing wage for a Quality Program Manager in your work location, determined by the O*NET SOC code and wage level assigned in the LCA. The wage level your employer selects affects both your compensation floor and how USCIS interprets the seniority of your role, so a mismatch between your actual duties and the stated level can trigger a Request for Evidence.
What happens to my H-1B status if my Quality Program Manager role is eliminated or restructured?
Your H-1B status is tied to the approved petition, including the job duties and employer. If your role is eliminated, you have a 60-day grace period to find a new H-1B sponsor, transfer your petition, or change to another valid status. Material changes to your duties, location, or employer entity require your employer to file an amended petition with USCIS before the change takes effect.
