H-1B Visa Platform Product Manager Jobs
Platform Product Manager roles qualify for H-1B sponsorship as specialty occupations requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field. Employers file an LCA with DOL before petitioning USCIS, and the annual cap means timing your job search around the April lottery window matters.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding H-1B Visa Sponsorship as a Platform Product Manager
Document your technical degree alignment
USCIS scrutinizes whether your degree field directly supports a Platform PM role. Pull your transcripts now and map coursework in systems architecture, software engineering, or computer science to the job's technical requirements before applications go out.
Target employers with cap-exempt filing history
Universities, nonprofit research institutions, and government-affiliated entities are cap-exempt, meaning they can file H-1B petitions year-round. Platform PM roles exist at these organizations, and skipping the lottery entirely changes your timeline significantly.
Use Migrate Mate to find verified sponsors
Search Platform Product Manager roles on Migrate Mate to filter specifically for employers with active H-1B LCA filing history. This surfaces companies that have already navigated the DOL certification process for this job category, not just companies that claim they sponsor.
Check prevailing wage before negotiating
Your employer must certify your salary meets DOL's prevailing wage for Platform Product Manager in your specific metro area. Run the OFLC Wage Search using SOC code 15-2051 or 11-3021 before your offer conversation so you know the floor they're legally required to meet.
Ask employers about premium processing upfront
Standard H-1B adjudication can take months after the October 1 start date. During offer negotiations, confirm whether your employer will file I-129 with premium processing so you know your actual start date and can plan your OPT cap-gap window if you're transitioning from F-1 status.
Review the O*NET profile before interviews
USCIS evaluates specialty occupation status against published occupational definitions. Reviewing the O*NET profile for product management roles shows you the exact tasks, knowledge areas, and degree requirements adjudicators reference, so you can frame your experience in the language that supports the petition.

Find Platform Product Manager JobsPlatform Product Manager H-1B Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Platform Product Manager role qualify as an H-1B specialty occupation?
Yes, provided the position requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific technical field such as computer science, software engineering, or information systems. Roles that accept any degree regardless of field are harder to qualify. Your employer's job description needs to establish that a specialized technical background is a minimum requirement, not just preferred.
Which employers regularly sponsor H-1B visas for Platform Product Manager positions?
Enterprise software companies, cloud infrastructure providers, fintech firms, and large consumer technology platforms file LCAs for Platform PM roles consistently. You can identify verified sponsors by reviewing DOL LCA disclosure data or browsing Platform Product Manager listings on Migrate Mate, which surfaces employers with confirmed H-1B filing history for this role category.
How does the H-1B lottery affect my job search timeline as a Platform PM candidate?
USCIS opens H-1B registration in March for an April lottery, with approved petitions taking effect October 1. If you're on OPT, your start date at a new employer depends on where you are in that cycle. Cap-exempt employers such as universities or nonprofit research centers bypass the lottery entirely and can file year-round, which is worth factoring into your search strategy.
What does the DOL LCA process mean for Platform Product Manager job offers?
Before petitioning USCIS, your employer must file a Labor Condition Application certifying your offered salary meets the DOL prevailing wage for your role and location, and that hiring you won't adversely affect similarly employed U.S. workers. LCA certification typically takes seven business days and must be completed before your I-129 petition can be submitted to USCIS.
Can I switch employers after my H-1B is approved for a Platform PM role?
Yes. Under H-1B portability rules, you can start working for a new employer as soon as they file an H-1B transfer petition with USCIS, without waiting for approval, as long as your prior H-1B was lawfully approved and you haven't been out of status. Your new employer files a fresh I-129 for the Platform PM role they're hiring you into.
