Verify your SOC code before applying
ServiceNow Solution Architect roles typically file under SOC 15-1299 or 15-1132. Confirm which code your prospective employer intends to use, because it directly determines your prevailing wage level and affects LCA certification timelines.
Target employers with E-Verify enrollment
Consulting firms and managed-service providers sponsoring this role are often required to use E-Verify for federal contracts. Prioritizing E-Verify-enrolled employers signals an existing compliance infrastructure that shortens your onboarding and H-1B filing process.
Document platform certifications before filing
Gather your ServiceNow Certified System Administrator, Implementation Specialist, and Architect credentials before your employer files the I-129. USCIS adjudicators scrutinize specialty occupation evidence for this title, and certifications tied to the specific role strengthen the petition.
Search LCA filing history on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter employers by verified DOL LCA filing history for Solution Architect roles. This shows you which companies have already certified wages and filed for comparable positions, so you can focus outreach on proven sponsors.
Request premium processing for tight start dates
If your offer letter includes a specific start date tied to a project deployment, ask your employer to file with premium processing. USCIS adjudicates premium petitions within 15 business days, reducing the risk of gaps when project timelines are fixed.
Benchmark prevailing wages by work location
ServiceNow Solution Architect prevailing wages vary significantly by metro area. Run the OFLC Wage Search using the specific county where you'll work, not just the state, to confirm your offered salary meets the Level II or Level III threshold before your employer submits the LCA.
H-1B Visa Servicenow Solution Architect: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a ServiceNow Solution Architect role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B purposes?
Yes, in most cases. USCIS evaluates specialty occupation based on whether the role normally requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field. ServiceNow Solution Architect positions typically require a degree in computer science, information systems, or a closely related field, and the platform's architectural complexity supports that classification. Your employer should document this clearly in the I-129 petition, including job duties and any required certifications.
Which employers sponsor H-1B visas for ServiceNow Solution Architects?
Sponsors are concentrated in IT consulting firms, systems integrators, and large enterprises running ServiceNow implementations across healthcare, financial services, and the public sector. You can browse employers with verified LCA filing history for this role on Migrate Mate, which filters results by companies that have already certified wages with DOL for comparable positions.
How does the prevailing wage requirement affect H-1B sponsorship for this role?
Before filing the H-1B petition, your employer must file an LCA certifying that your offered salary meets the prevailing wage for the role in your work location. For Solution Architects, that wage is typically set at Level II or Level III under the DOL wage classification, depending on your experience. You can look up the applicable threshold by location using the OFLC Wage Search.
Can I switch employers while on an H-1B as a ServiceNow Solution Architect?
Yes. Under H-1B portability rules established by AC21, you can start working for a new employer once they file a new H-1B petition on your behalf, as long as your current H-1B has been approved for at least 180 days and you're moving into a same or similar occupational classification. Solution Architect roles within the same SOC code generally satisfy the similarity requirement, but your new employer must still complete a fresh LCA and I-129 filing.
What documentation strengthens an H-1B petition for a ServiceNow Solution Architect?
The most effective supporting documents are platform-specific certifications such as the ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect credential, a detailed job description outlining architectural responsibilities, and evidence that prior hires in the same role held relevant degrees. USCIS has issued RFEs on this title when the specialty occupation nexus is not clearly established, so thorough documentation from the employer is critical.
