Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding H-1B Visa Sponsorship in Telephone Interviewer
Verify your degree aligns with the SOC code
Telephone Interviewer roles are typically filed under SOC 43-4111. Pull the O*NET profile for that code and confirm your degree field matches the listed education requirements before applying, not after an offer arrives.
Target federal contractors running large surveys
Organizations conducting Census Bureau, NIH, or BLS data-collection contracts file H-1B petitions regularly for structured interviewer roles. Federal contract work creates predictable staffing cycles, which means more consistent LCA filings than private-sector survey firms.
Check employer LCA history on Migrate Mate
Search Migrate Mate to see which survey and research organizations have filed Labor Condition Applications for Telephone Interviewer roles. Filtering by SOC code and employer lets you apply only where sponsorship is already established practice.
Request the LCA wage level before negotiating
Your employer's LCA must certify a wage at or above DOL prevailing wage for your location and SOC code. Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the Level I through Level IV range for your metro area so you enter salary conversations with the correct floor in mind.
File before the April 1 registration deadline
H-1B cap-subject petitions require registration in March for an October 1 start date. If your current status expires before October, confirm with your employer whether cap-exempt filing through a university or nonprofit affiliate is possible to bridge the gap.
Document bilingual skills in your petition supporting letter
Survey firms conducting multilingual research often justify specialty occupation status partly through specialized language and methodology requirements. Your employer's support letter should detail how your degree and any language credentials are operationally necessary, not incidental, to the role.

Find Telephone Interviewer JobsTelephone Interviewer H-1B Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Telephone Interviewer role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B purposes?
It depends on how the employer structures the position. USCIS requires that the role normally requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Telephone Interviewer positions tied to academic research, epidemiological studies, or federal survey programs are more defensible than general call-center interviewing roles, because the employer can document a direct connection between the degree field and the work performed.
Which degree fields support an H-1B petition for a Telephone Interviewer job?
Social sciences, communications, public health, psychology, and statistics are the most commonly cited fields. The degree must relate specifically to the type of interviewing the role involves. A public health degree supports an NIH survey position more cleanly than a general communications degree, so the match between your major and the employer's research focus matters when USCIS reviews the petition.
How do I find employers that have sponsored H-1B visas for Telephone Interviewer roles?
Migrate Mate surfaces employers with verified LCA filing history, so you can filter by occupation code and see which research organizations, survey firms, and federal contractors have already sponsored workers in this role. That filing history is public DOL data, and targeting employers with an established pattern significantly reduces the risk of an employer declining to sponsor mid-process.
Can a staffing agency sponsor my H-1B for a Telephone Interviewer placement?
A staffing agency can technically be the petitioning employer, but USCIS scrutinizes third-party placement arrangements closely. The agency must demonstrate it controls the day-to-day work, sets the terms of employment, and can establish specialty occupation for the end-client site. Direct hire by the research firm or survey organization is a stronger petition structure and less likely to draw a Request for Evidence.
What happens to my H-1B status if the survey project I was hired for ends early?
If your employer terminates your position, they are required to pay for your return transportation to your home country. You have a 60-day grace period to find a new H-1B sponsor, transfer your status, or depart the U.S. Starting your job search immediately and prioritizing employers already enrolled in E-Verify can speed up the transfer process, since E-Verify enrollment is often a prerequisite for cap-exempt or fast-track filings.
