This role provides hands-on mechanical engineering leadership in complex automation environments, ensuring projects meet Amazon's safety, timeline, cost, and quality standards. Mechanical Installation Leadership:
- Directly manage and lead mechanical installation crews deploying MHE across North American facilities
- Oversee structural header steel installation including hanging steel, prebuilding supports, and anchoring to building structure
- Lead conveyor prep and placement operations — rigging, lifting, staging, and setting conveyor sections into final positions on installed supports
- Manage conveyor connections and belting crews — ensuring proper mechanical alignment, bed connections, squaring, leveling, and hardware tightening
- Direct side guide and netting installation ensuring proper alignment and tension
- Oversee belt crew operations including belting and lacing installation on aligned conveyor sections
- Manage pneumatic/air systems installation including air connections to conveyor components, pressure testing, and leak verification
- Coordinate with the logistics and receiving team to ensure materials are inventoried, staged, and distributed to work zones on schedule
Quality Control & Commissioning:
- Lead mechanical QC and commissioning activities including alignment verification, hardware inspections, and match-mark verification

- Verify IOQ checks and ensure all mechanical systems meet specifications before handoff to electrical teams

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in engineering including a supervisory role managing people
- Experience in a fast-paced, automated, industrial, logistics, production or manufacturing environment
- 5+ years of experience in industrial engineering, operations engineering, manufacturing engineering, or project engineering in a manufacturing or construction environment
- Experience in a supervisory role managing installation crews, maintenance technicians, or tradespeople
- Experience with the project management of technical projects in fast-paced, automated industrial environments
- Experience delivering technical projects in active construction environments
- Ability to travel up to 50% domestically; travel may exceed 50% in some instances with short notice. When not traveling you will be on-site at your assigned building.
