Job Description
Power the firm's straight-through processing by owning the Account & Standard Settlement Instructions (SSI) golden source. In this Product Owner- Vice President role, you'll set the vision and roadmap for a controlled, auditable reference data platform that connects onboarding/Know Your Candidate (KYC) to critical downstream payment, settlement, and reporting flows—reducing manual touchpoints while improving data quality and production stability. As a Product Owner (Vice President), you will lead strategy and execution for an internal cross–line of business Account and SSI reference data platform, with accountability for outcomes across client onboarding, account maintenance, SSI maintenance, and downstream payment, settlement, and regulatory reporting processing. Sitting between upstream onboarding/KYC processes and a broad set of downstream consumers (e.g., trade allocation platforms, trade and cash settlement engines, payment/trading platforms, and reporting platforms), you will own the product vision, roadmap, and backlog for a trusted golden source of client account and SSI reference data. You will drive how account and SSI data is captured, validated, approved, published, and consumed (via APIs and event-driven publishing), translating complex operational, risk, and regulatory requirements into prioritized, development-ready delivery with strong controls, traceability, and auditability. You will balance new feature delivery with remediation, data quality uplift, production stability, and standards-driven change through transparent prioritization and executive-ready reporting. Success will be measured by delivering a strategic, industry-aligned, and scalable solution that reduces data proliferation, improves the operational user experience, and reduces manual touchpoints in a global, matrixed environment.

- Lead global end-to-end delivery (sequencing, dependencies, release planning) and convert requirements into development-ready stories with measurable acceptance criteria (and clear DoR/DoD); run agile ceremonies with the Scrum Master and maintain documentation, approvals, change control, and traceability for audit/regulatory readiness.
- Drive data standards, lineage, stewardship, and quality with monitoring for accuracy, timeliness, completeness, and consistency; partner with Compliance/Risk on KYC, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and sanctions dependencies with clear policy alignment, evidence, and control design.
- Translate workflows/pain points across Operations, Middle Office, Payments, Treasury, Custody, and Front Office into increments improving operating outcomes; coordinate integrations from onboarding/KYC to downstream consumers (SWIFT, Fedwire, CHAPS, settlement engines, trading platforms, DTCC ALERT, SWIFT Ref) with defined publishing contracts and controlled rollout.
- Define and track OKRs/KPIs (data quality/timeliness, exceptions/repairs, settlement fails, STP, SLA adherence); provide executive-ready reporting on status/risks/remediation and lead production resilience, incident triage, and migration/cutover planning.

Frame your credentials around specialty occupation
H-1B1 visa requires your role to demand a specific degree, not just any bachelor's. Use O*NET to confirm VP Product maps to a qualifying occupation, then tailor your resume to show the degree-to-role connection explicitly.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Search Migrate Mate to identify companies that have filed Labor Condition Applications for product leadership roles. Employers already familiar with the H-1B1 visa process move faster and are less likely to stall on sponsorship once they extend an offer.
Distinguish H-1B1 from H-1B when briefing recruiters
Many U.S. hiring teams conflate H-1B1 visa with the H-1B lottery. Clarify upfront that your visa processes at the consulate with no lottery and no USCIS petition, which removes the April deadline pressure that concerns most employers.
Request a prevailing wage check before negotiating
Your employer must certify your offer meets DOL prevailing wage requirements before filing the LCA. Run the OFLC Wage Search yourself for the VP Product SOC code in your target metro so you negotiate from an informed position.
Verify the employer's E-Verify enrollment before accepting
H-1B1 visa employers must use E-Verify for employment eligibility. Confirm enrollment before you sign. If a company hasn't enrolled yet, the onboarding process adds weeks and occasionally derails the timeline entirely.
Prepare for annual visa renewal at the consulate
H-1B1 visa is issued in one-year increments and renewed at the U.S. consulate in Singapore, not through USCIS. Build your offer negotiation to account for this annual cycle, and confirm your employer's willingness to support recurring renewals.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does a VP Product role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B1 Singapore?
Yes. VP Product roles typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, business, engineering, or a related field, which satisfies the specialty occupation standard. The key is demonstrating that the specific position demands that degree, not just that you hold one. Your employer documents this in the Labor Condition Application filed with DOL.
How do I find employers who sponsor H-1B1 Singapore visas for product leadership roles?
Use Migrate Mate to search for VP Product positions filtered by employers with H-1B1 visa filing history. Most generalist job boards don't surface visa sponsorship data at this level of specificity, so filtering by LCA filing history is the most reliable way to identify companies already set up to sponsor Singaporean professionals in product leadership.
How does H-1B1 Singapore compare to H-1B for a VP Product candidate?
H-1B1 visa is categorically better positioned for Singaporean nationals applying to VP Product roles. There's no lottery, no USCIS petition filing, and the consular process is typically faster than H-1B cap-subject processing. The trade-off is that H-1B1 is issued in one-year increments and doesn't carry dual intent, meaning you can't use it as a direct path to a green card without switching visa categories later.
What happens to my H-1B1 status if I change employers after accepting a VP Product offer?
H-1B1 visa is employer-specific. If you change jobs, your new employer must file a fresh LCA with DOL and support a new consular application. Unlike H-1B, there's no USCIS portability provision that lets you start work before the new application is approved. Factor this into your timeline if you're considering a move mid-status.
Can a VP Product role at a startup qualify for H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship?
Yes, employer size doesn't determine eligibility. What matters is whether the company can demonstrate the role is a genuine specialty occupation, pay the DOL prevailing wage, and comply with LCA and E-Verify requirements. Startups without prior immigration experience may need more lead time to complete DOL filing correctly, so build that into your offer timeline.
