Hris Consultant Jobs in Hawaii: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a hris consultant in Hawaii?
Most Hawaii employers expect a bachelor's degree in human resources, information systems, or business administration as a starting point. From there, hands-on experience with a major HRIS platform such as Workday or UKG is the practical requirement that opens consulting roles. Earning a vendor certification, like Workday Pro or UKG Workforce Management, strengthens your candidacy significantly. Hawaii has no state-issued license specific to HRIS work, so credentials and documented platform experience carry the most weight in local hiring decisions.
Which companies hire hris consultants in Hawaii?
Hawaii hris consultant roles are posted by City and County of Honolulu, County of Hawaii, and SOSi and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hawaii's healthcare networks and state government agencies are among the most consistent sources of HRIS consulting demand across the islands.
Which Hawaii cities have the most hris consultant jobs?
Honolulu, Ford Island, and Oahu Island are the cities with the most hris consultant openings in Hawaii. Honolulu accounts for the largest share because it is home to the state government, major hospital systems like Hawaii Pacific Health and The Queen's Health Systems, and the headquarters of most large private employers, while smaller concentrations in areas like Kapolei reflect the growth of corporate campuses on the Ewa Plain.
Are there remote hris consultant jobs in Hawaii?
Yes, and more than most fields, since HRIS consulting is largely desk-based and platform-driven work that translates well to remote arrangements. About 0% of hris consultant openings tied to Hawaii are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the analytical and configuration-focused nature of the role. System administration, reporting, and implementation support are the functions most commonly offered with location flexibility.
How can I get hired as a hris consultant in Hawaii with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is moving into an HRIS analyst or HR coordinator role within a large Hawaii employer such as Hawaii Pacific Health, the University of Hawaii system, or a state government agency, where you gain direct platform exposure. Many of these organizations also bring on entry-level HR generalists who support HRIS data entry and reporting, which builds the hands-on record that consultants need. Completing a vendor-sponsored learning path, such as Workday's online training or UKG's certification program, gives candidates without formal experience a concrete, verifiable credential that Hawaii hiring managers recognize.
Where can I find and apply to hris consultant jobs in Hawaii?
You can find and apply to hris consultant jobs in Hawaii on Migrate Mate, which lists current Hawaii openings updated regularly. Search the listings to find roles that match your platform experience and seniority level, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
