Hris Consultant Jobs in Honolulu: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a hris consultant job in Honolulu?
Targeting healthcare networks, large hotel and resort operators, and state and county government agencies gives you the best shot in Honolulu, since those sectors run the most complex HR systems locally. Hands-on experience with Workday, UKG, or SAP SuccessFactors is a strong differentiator here. Familiarity with the staffing structures common to Hawaii's mixed public-private workforce, and connecting with Honolulu HR leadership through local SHRM chapter events, sharpens your edge.
Which companies hire hris consultants in Honolulu?
Companies currently hiring hris consultants in Honolulu include Ulu HI Tech, City and County of Honolulu, and Matson, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Honolulu's hiring pool draws heavily from large healthcare systems, resort and hospitality groups, financial institutions, and state government agencies, all of which maintain sizable HR operations that rely on dedicated HRIS professionals.
Are there remote hris consultant jobs in Honolulu?
Yes, though availability depends on the role since configuration, reporting, and system administration work is commonly done remotely, while implementation and on-site training roles still require a local presence. About 0% of hris consultant openings tied to Honolulu are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting broader flexibility in analytics-heavy and support-focused positions. Data analysis, system reporting, and vendor liaison work tend to be the most remote-accessible functions in Honolulu.
How can I get a hris consultant job in Honolulu with little or no experience?
Starting in an HR coordinator or HR generalist role at one of Honolulu's large healthcare systems or hotel groups is the most realistic entry path, since those employers regularly promote internally into HRIS support functions. Community colleges and the University of Hawaii system offer HR and information systems coursework that local hiring managers recognize. Volunteering to manage scheduling or HR software for a nonprofit or small Honolulu business also builds the hands-on system experience that entry-level hiring managers want to see.
