Entry Level Human Resources Specialist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level human resources specialist job?
Employers hiring at this level look for candidates with a degree in human resources, business, or a related field, along with any hands-on exposure from internships, HR assistant roles, or relevant coursework. Familiarity with applicant tracking systems, basic knowledge of employment law, and strong communication skills give candidates a clear edge. Certifications like the SHRM-CP or PHR student program can also strengthen an application.
Which companies hire entry level human resources specialists?
Companies hiring entry level human resources specialists right now include Amazon, Penn State Health, and Canonical, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a broad mix of employers, including large corporations with structured HR rotational programs, healthcare systems, and staffing firms that routinely onboard junior HR talent.
Are there remote entry level human resources specialist jobs?
Yes, though most postings at this level still favor on-site or hybrid arrangements. About 13% of entry level human resources specialist openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, so candidates open to on-site work will find the widest range of opportunities while fully remote roles remain a smaller but real portion of the market.
Are these new grad human resources specialist jobs?
Yes, the listings here include new grad, recent graduate, and junior human resources specialist roles. A posting is new-grad friendly when it explicitly welcomes zero to two years of experience, counts internships or practicum hours toward the requirement, or accepts a strong portfolio of HR projects in place of full-time work history. Searching for those signals helps narrow the list quickly.
Which industries hire the most entry level human resources specialists?
Entry Level human resources specialist roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Technology & Software, and Retail, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Those sectors tend to drive volume hiring at the junior level because their scale, regulatory requirements, and high employee turnover create consistent demand for HR support staff who can grow into more senior generalist or specialist roles.
