Entry Level Consultant Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level consultant job?
Entry level consultant roles reward candidates who can demonstrate structured thinking, clear communication, and a willingness to learn client-facing work quickly. Highlighting internships, class projects, case competitions, or any experience where you analyzed a problem and presented recommendations will strengthen your application. Familiarity with tools like Excel, PowerPoint, or basic data visualization also gives junior candidates a practical edge at this stage.
Which companies hire entry level consultants?
Companies hiring entry level consultants right now include Carmax Business Services, Deloitte, and CarMax, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring comes from a mix of large consulting firms, boutique advisory shops, and in-house strategy teams at corporations that staff junior consultants directly from campus or early-career pipelines.
Are there remote entry level consultant jobs?
Yes, though on-site and hybrid roles are common at this stage since many firms emphasize in-person mentorship for junior staff. About 25% of entry level consultant openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, so fully remote options exist but tend to be a smaller share of the total market compared to more senior levels.
Are these new grad consultant jobs?
Yes, the listings here include new grad, recent graduate, and junior consultant roles. A posting is new-grad friendly when it explicitly welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts internships or academic project work in place of full-time history, or mentions a formal analyst or associate program designed to onboard candidates straight out of college.
Which industries hire the most entry level consultants?
Entry level consultant roles concentrate in Consulting & Professional Services, Automotive, and Retail, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Those sectors tend to drive hiring at this level because they rely on project-based work structures, frequent client engagements, and scalable analyst pipelines that are well suited to bringing in junior talent.
