Mid Level Insurance Agent Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level insurance agent job?
Position yourself around the complexity of what you've already handled: policy types you've sold independently, books of business you've managed, and any mentoring or training you've done for newer agents. Highlight retention rates, renewal numbers, and cross-sell results in your application materials. Employers at this level want evidence of self-direction and consistent production, not just tenure.
Which companies hire mid level insurance agents?
Companies hiring mid level insurance agents right now include Alliant Insurance Services, State Farm, and Haga Kommer, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level covers national carriers, regional independents, and captive agency networks that need experienced producers who can work with reduced supervision.
Are there remote mid level insurance agent jobs?
Yes, remote and hybrid options exist at this level, though availability varies by employer and product line. About 25% of mid level insurance agent openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with personal lines and commercial inside-sales roles offering the most flexibility compared to field-based or agency-owner positions.
How do I move up to a mid level insurance agent role?
Reaching mid level means building a record of independent production: consistently meeting or exceeding quotas, managing renewals without hand-holding, and developing fluency in a core product line such as life, P&C, or commercial. Taking on informal mentoring, earning additional licenses like Series 6 or a CIC designation, and demonstrating measurable client retention all signal readiness for greater ownership.
Which industries hire the most mid level insurance agents?
Mid Level insurance agent roles concentrate in Insurance, Agriculture & Farming, and Government & Public Sector, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Those sectors drive consistent demand because they combine high policy volume, regulatory complexity, and client relationships that benefit from agents experienced enough to work independently and build long-term books of business.
