Entry Level Insurance Broker Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level insurance broker job?
Start by earning a state insurance producer license, which most employers require before your first day. A college degree in business, finance, or a related field helps, but internship experience or demonstrated sales ability can carry just as much weight. Highlight any client-facing work, cold-calling experience, or coursework in risk management, and apply to roles that explicitly welcome candidates with little to no prior experience.
Which companies hire entry level insurance brokers?
Companies hiring entry level insurance brokers right now include Rippling, Alignment Healthcare, and Risksmith Insurance Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Independent agencies, regional carriers, and national brokerage firms all recruit at this level, often looking for motivated candidates they can train and license in-house.
Are there remote entry level insurance broker jobs?
Yes, though on-site and hybrid roles are still common at the entry level. About 37% of entry level insurance broker openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, so candidates who prefer flexibility do have real options. Remote roles often focus on personal lines or inside sales, where client meetings happen by phone or video rather than in person.
Are these new grad insurance broker jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior insurance broker roles. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts internships or part-time work as qualifying background, or mentions training and licensing support. If a role asks for a motivated self-starter rather than a seasoned producer, it is almost always open to new grad applicants.
Which industries hire the most entry level insurance brokers?
Entry Level insurance broker roles concentrate in Insurance, Technology & Software, and Banking & Financial Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive consistent hiring at the entry level because their business models depend on a steady pipeline of new producers to manage policy volume, serve retail or commercial clients, and grow book-of-business revenue over time.
