Board certification in interventional cardiology through the American Board of Internal Medicine is expected by virtually all Illinois employers and is required for hospital privileging at major systems.
How much do interventional cardiologists make in Illinois?

Which companies hire interventional cardiologists in Illinois?
Employers hiring interventional cardiologists in Illinois right now include OSF HealthCare, Duly Health and Care, and Carle Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Chicago dominates hiring because of its density of academic medical centers, quaternary referral hospitals, and large multispecialty cardiology groups, while Peoria and Springfield draw volume from regional anchor systems like OSF HealthCare and HSHS Medical Group serving downstate Illinois populations.

About 0% of interventional cardiologist openings tied to Illinois are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those tend to involve telemedicine consultation, second-opinion reads, or administrative and medical director functions rather than procedural work.
