American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for an IMC/Stepdown/PCU night shift position requiring an active IL RN license and at least 1 year of relevant experience.
Details
- Work in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Stepdown/IMC setting
- Care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including CHF, chest pain, COPD, AFib with RVR, and arrhythmias
- Patient ratio of 1:4-5
- Night shift schedule of 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 7:30
- Float required to other units as needed
- Weekend coverage required every 3rd weekend, totaling 5 weekend shifts per contract
- Uses Pyxis medication dispensing system
- Utilizes SBAR communication method
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
- Experience with cardiac telemetry monitoring and management of dysrhythmias
- Skilled in use of rapid response/code teams
- Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization care and sheath removal
- Proficient in central line, peripheral line, and PICC line care and management
- Skilled in starting and maintaining IVs
- Experience with heparin protocols and managing cardiac drips (no titration required)
- Experience with PCA management
- Skilled in chest tube management (Emerson/Pleur-Evac)
- Proficient in BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) management
- Experience with tracheostomy care and non-invasive airway management
- Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
- Experience with wound care and wound vac management
- Skilled in feeding tube care and management
- Experience with pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care
- Experience accessing and managing ports and blood product administration
- At least one supervisor reference required for consideration
