American Traveler is hiring an RN - Telemetry for a night shift contract requiring active TX or compact RN license, ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Certification.
Details
- Telemetry unit (3W) within a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend required, along with some holidays
- No on-call requirements
- Uses Meditech (EBCD) charting system
- Floating required per facility floating policy
Requirements
- Active Texas RN license or compact license required; temporary licenses not accepted
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIH Stroke Certification required
- 2+ years of hospital or specialty experience required
- Telemetry monitoring experience required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical team environment
- Experience with IV insertion, line and drain management, and post-care of cardiac catheterization, pacemaker placement/revision, and vascular surgery preferred
- Knowledge of dysrhythmia interpretation and management preferred
- Knowledge of cardiac medications and IV drip management (insulin, heparin, and other cardiac drips) preferred
- US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

- Provide telemetry care using communication boards, hourly rounding, bedside shift report, and AIDET techniques
- Utilize effective communication and de-escalation techniques with patients
- Adhere to unit dress code: navy scrub top and pants with navy or white scrub jacket for RNs
- Maintain clean, neat appearance including hair, nails, and minimal visible piercings, with tattoos covered when possible
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
