Telemetry RN Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a telemetry rn in Texas?
You become a telemetry rn in Texas by earning an Associate Degree in Nursing or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, then passing the NCLEX-RN exam and applying for licensure through the Texas Board of Nursing. Texas participates in the Nurse Licensure Compact, so nurses licensed in other compact states may work in Texas without obtaining a separate state license. Obtaining ACLS certification before applying strengthens your candidacy significantly.
How much do telemetry RNs make in Texas?
Telemetry RNs in Texas earn a median of about $95,970 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $67,120 for the lowest 10% to over $127,950 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire telemetry rns in Texas?
Employers hiring telemetry rns in Texas right now include Baylor Scott & White Health, CommonSpirit Health, and Ascension, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's large integrated health systems and network hospitals consistently post the highest volume of telemetry openings, particularly in cardiac progressive care and step-down units.
Which Texas cities have the most telemetry rn jobs?
Lake Jackson, San Antonio, and College Station have the most telemetry rn openings in Texas. Houston leads due to the Texas Medical Center, the largest medical complex in the world, while Dallas and San Antonio draw volume from major multi-campus health systems and a concentration of Level I trauma centers that maintain round-the-clock telemetry units.
Are there remote telemetry rn jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they're rare. Telemetry nursing is a hands-on clinical role requiring direct patient monitoring, so the vast majority of positions are on-site. About 3% of telemetry rn openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those exceptions are almost always in telehealth triage or remote cardiac monitoring roles rather than traditional bedside telemetry work.
How can I get hired as a telemetry rn in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to a new graduate nurse residency program at a large Texas health system. Baylor Scott and White Health, HCA Houston Healthcare, and UT Health run structured residency programs that place new graduates into med-surg and progressive care units with supervised orientation before transitioning to telemetry. Completing a basic dysrhythmia or cardiac monitoring course before applying and holding current ACLS certification both improve your standing with Texas hospital recruiters.
Where can I find and apply to telemetry rn jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to telemetry rn jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers hiring in the state right now. Find roles that fit your experience and location preference, then apply directly to the positions that match.
