Texans Health and Wellness Center is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and highly motivated Board-Certified Family Practice Physician (MD/DO) to serve as the Physician Medical Director for our two outpatient medical clinics located in Garland and Rowlett, Texas.
We are looking for a physician who is passionate about delivering quality patient care, promoting clinical excellence, and providing medical leadership within a growing healthcare organization.
Newly graduated physicians who have completed an Family Practice residency and obtained board certification are encouraged to apply. Previous Medical Director experience is not required.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for a physician interested in clinical leadership, collaborative healthcare, and contributing to the continued growth and development of our medical practices.
Key Responsibilities
Medical Leadership and Oversight
- Serve as Physician Medical Director for both the Garland and Rowlett clinic locations.
- Provide clinical leadership, guidance, and medical oversight to healthcare providers and clinical staff.
- Collaborate with Nurse Practitioners and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining clinical policies, protocols, and procedures.
- Promote compliance with applicable federal and Texas healthcare regulations.
- Participate in clinical quality assurance, performance improvement, and patient safety initiatives.
- Assist with provider education, clinical training, and professional development.
- Participate in medical staff and practice management meetings as needed.
Patient Care and Clinical Services
- Provide Family Practice and primary care services as agreed upon based on practice needs.
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Promote preventive medicine, chronic disease management, and patient education.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure continuity of care and positive patient outcomes.
- Maintain complete, accurate, and timely electronic medical records.
Collaboration and Practice Development
- Work closely with practice management to enhance clinical workflows and operational efficiency.
- Support the development and expansion of clinical services.
- Assist in maintaining consistent standards of care across both locations.
- Provide clinical guidance and consultation to healthcare providers.
- Support a professional, collaborative, and patient-centered work environment.
Qualifications
Required
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
- Successful completion of an accredited Family Practice residency program.
- Board Certified in Family Practice.
- Current, unrestricted Texas medical license or eligibility to obtain Texas licensure before employment.
- Current DEA registration or eligibility to obtain registration, as required for assigned duties.
- Strong communication, organizational, and clinical decision-making skills.
- Commitment to quality patient care, ethical medical practice, and teamwork.
- Ability to provide clinical leadership and work collaboratively with Nurse Practitioners and other medical professionals.
Preferred but Not Required
- Previous experience in a primary care or outpatient clinical setting.
- Experience supervising or collaborating with advanced practice providers.
- Experience with electronic health record systems.
- Previous Medical Director or healthcare leadership experience.
